Yeah, that joy goes away after a while man. It's kind of fun the first few times you do it. After that not so much. It's a redundant activity. It's not like woodworking where you can make a different thing each time. If it's your only hobby I can understand. Time is valuable for me. I can solder and even weld and I still try to avoid doing both if I can.

My very first quad build in 2015 was a solder free kit. It was the Spedix S250 ARF KK2.1 version. It used bullet connectors for the motors and esc and servo pins for the fc and rx. It didn't come with a fpv camera or vtx though. It did had a spot to put those old Sony board cameras we use to use like the pz0420. I flew mine los for a while before I eventually put fpv gear on it. Man, we've come a long way since then.

This was a great video. Thanks Ken for taking up the challenge. Yes finally something all setup. I have just purchased my first bind and fly Nazgul V5. What a pain. But i learned a bunch. And thanks to this channel i now have it arming and motors spinning. This FPV sport really needs to change. 3 nights of research to get this going sucks BUT i am better for the experience. But i suspect many people starting into this would give up the build. But once i get it in the air it will be worth it i am sure. Thanks to Joshua for making great videos to help a beginner in the sport to get off the ground.

I bought the HD-1SF and put it together a couple of weeks ago. Super easy. Took about 30 minutes or so. I don't mind soldering. It is the MR30 plugs on the motors and the replaceable arms on the frame that I liked. I have a habit of destroying motors and the occasional arm. I don't have a DJI transmitter (I have a TX16s) so I added Crossfire, which was super easy. I even added plugs for it. I bought the 3D printed CRSF antenna mount which works great. Plenty of room in the stack and frame to add the Crossfire Nano.

For someone just getting into the hobby, this is an amazing creation. You shouldn’t have to solder unless you get to a point where you need to. Making the hobby more accessible for a larger number of people can't be a bad thing. How much cheaper is the kit vs a RTF quad?
@paulhope34013 жыл бұрын
@@oleg146 Its not so different from buying a RTF quad... which I think most non practical skilled people are likely to do... unless there is a reasonable price difference. Why do you think it's bad for hobbyists?
@oleg1463 жыл бұрын
@@paulhope3401 absolutely agree, it’s almost the same as rtf. Saying “bad” I chose answer proposed in question, actually meaning it’s not interesting for, let’s say, advanced hobbyists. For others assembling this kit seems to be pointless in terms of learning as they won’t get any additional knowledge except how to deal with screws and connectors. I also agree that price difference might be a point, but I doubt it will be reasonably lower than rtf.
