Thank you for sharing this beautiful lesson and performance, Josh! My late piano teacher introduced me to this mesmerizing piece by Debussy years ago. I was hooked listening to Debussy’s work because of “Reverie.” I’ll never forget her. I think of her every time I revisit and play this piece. 🙏🏽❤️🌹

You're the best. You just keep answering all my questions...and SO much more. Thank you very much. I just realized this was not the full-length tutorial and I have enrolled in that!

Debussy much like any composer is very critical of there own work. I'm the same way when it comes to my compositions. But Reverie is by no means a "poor" piece. Most disagree with Debussy on that.

Here is part 3 (|| 50-72) of the Reverie lyrics, following 2 previous posts: Feel the measure, count the beats Sense the pleasure, praise such feats 2-3 timings, hard to master Gentle tempo, shun the faster. Leisured counting’s sure descent Like a spiral half meant Meanwhile genius flaunts the progress Of obsessive subtle nuance. Feel the measure, count the beats Sense the pleasure, praise such feats of gentle somnolescent states Fresh new paths. ( | 72)

ABRSM Gareth Green ("Music Matters") says: put some lyrics to the melody, and sing it to memorise it. Here are 4 separate posts {11-33; 34-49; 50-72;73-97} attempting lyrics - here's the first (11-33): "Poor Claud, With his head in the clouds in Paris (Par-ee) Forming symbols in the score. Meanwhile, in the mix of composers And the pride of performers Pushing back from the press of traditional French form. ( | 18) Magic, an impressionist colour and tone There’s no precedent And no parallel Such sublime sound Taking ever high ground Though tradition is strong And the rhythm seems wrong And envy wins. Josh, can you do one on Rachmaninov Concerto No. 2 MOV 2. I know you did Mov 1, but Mov 2 is beautiful. Can you do one on the middle passage when it starts to intensify?✨ Beautiful Debussy Btw, one of my favorite composers

No one, in the mix of composers And the pride of performers Can retreat to the corners Of the ship of . . . . Feel the measure, count the beats Sense the pleasure, praise such feats of gentle somnolescent owning Transformed structure, toning home........." Josh, who is an accomplished instructor, on line for a six yr ild boy. A never-ever who shows a lot of interest. We are giving him a piano. We are his grandparents; I play and have my own private instructor similar to you. (He taught over 30 yrs university master/doctorate program and still judges internationally. I am VERY fortunate. Instructors of your calibre are few and far between. I know nothing about teaching children; but if we lived nearby, i believe i could do a good job for a year or two. Any suggestions?
