Contrary to all the comments, this is NOT Jeff Beck on guitar. That is a different cover of this song sung by Joss. This is guitarist Jean-Pierre von dach. He does a great job along with Joss and the rest of the band. Joss can sing most singers under the the table. She is another in the long line of great soul singers from the UK. 🎸🔥

For me, the power of a song lies within the lyrics and their vocal delivery. Very little singing in this one, with the instrumentals being three-quarters of the song length, so I didn't feel it as much. John Fogerty's version is still my favorite.

I liked it. But you gotta know that there have been some amazing versions worth a listen including Nina Simone and John Fogerty. The most bizarre version I've heard was Screamin Jay Hawkins performance on the Arsenio Hall Show. Turns out Screamin Jay Hawkins did the original version way back in 1956 (but his performance on Arsenio is the one to watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYSakmeLn5esg6c ).
