Nice video! Welcome to the world of 4AD. It's pretty addicting. For me, I like to roll on the quest table to give me motivation. After I've completed the quest, I just roll on the treasure table. This seems like it is fair, as I don't think it will over power my party. It has been fun so far!

Good idea for a start! I wanted to save those for later, when a monster will give me a quest, to have some elements of surprise in the meantime - I also do not see the tables before playing a new game/supplement. For me that is the way of playing without a GM, but I know many who feels more safe by being prepared for all situations. I think the best part of solo gaming is: your play, your choice, enjoy! 😊

Tank you for this, Nice video. I started playing this myself a few years ago. I just have the pdfs. I took them to a place that printed them out. Put in binders. I then kind of got interested in actual playing and just got OSR Dragonslayer in hard cover and some of the mega dungeons, and started playing. (So 4AD basically got me wanting more in a way) Love your work.

Thank you very much! ❤️ It really depends on practicing and experimenting - for me the hardest part was to overcome the “I am not good enough and I will ruin the notebook” feeling. What helped is a not too fancy college book what I didn’t care about a lot, so later I was more confident to start a nicer one. 😊

Ah, humble beginnings! Even though the core set of 4AD is a very tightly designed board game, the atrocious presentation of the rules cleverly hides this fact. I'm not sure why it's the case; not all of Andrea's early games have the same issue, but I digress. What I'm trying to say is that you're obviously not the only one who felt confused when starting out with 4AD ;) Despite its editorial shortcomings, even the base game hints at a much looser and open-ended style of play, which the supplements have by now fully realised (as you're already aware), and I think it's what gives 4AD an edge over other dungeon crawling solo pen-and-paper games. I'm looking forward to seeing your continued journey (actually, catching up with it, as you've already uploaded a number of videos); maybe I'll nick some tricks for my own campaigns. Fight on, A fellow Hungarian gamer
