Interesting idea to use magazine visuals as journaling prompts. Love it! This was not what I was expecting when I pressed “play”, but am so glad to find it and to find you. I love these magazines and have many; now I have new ways to treasure them and be inspired to make words as well as projects. Will definitely subscribe. Thank you ❤

What a cool idea! I love how you do journalling research projects inspired by these magazine prompts. I have something kind of similar - I call it my Miracle Book, based on the saying 'live as if everything is a miracle'. I choose a topic (plants, animals, natural phenomena, inventions, etc.) and look up some facts to write about it. But I just use stickers to decorate it - using these kinds of visual prompts is such a cool idea. Thanks!

What a great idea to use a magazine image as a journaling prompt! Love it. I like all the mags you mentioned, and I also like Daphne's Diary for the beautiful images and Where Women Create for their gorgeous art room spreads. I've certainly been inspired by your idea. Thanks so very much!

So weird! I just saw Somerset Studio magazine today at Real Canadian Superstore and was blown away by the content. It’s so well done and the art and idea’s are just amazing. Then…I happened on your channel, and you are raving about it ! What are the odds!!! I have never seen it before anywhere, but it is my new favourite go to magazine. Also love that you like to put full page’s in your journals, me too! Thanks for the reinforcement that it’s not just me😅. Looking forward to your videos. Hello from British Columbia Canada.🎉

Great ideas! Not many have have done such descriptive vids on using magazines and the magazines that can be used except you and Natasia at Treasure Books, at least not that Ive found. Awesome video. Good ideas. Btw, you can reduce the glare on mag. Pages with clear matte gesso, if applied lightly with a sponge applicator. ☺

I've done papercraft for many years and a year ago began Junk Journaling. Since this time I've learned so much and have branched into different types of journals. One of my favorites I made using only pages from a magazine called Cowboys and Indians. I'd never heard of this magazine before and came across it at a thrift store for 50 cents.

Thank you so much for your insight. Since my first mixed media class I’ve been using cutouts from Stampington magazines in my journals. They are the best! And if I share my piece on IG I definitely tag the artist and Stampington Company. I had not thought about writing a story and I love the idea! Thank you so much for sharing!😊

Fabulous video! I already do this with some of my journal pages. Someone gave me a whole stack of Faerie Magazine and once I've read them, I use them again for my journal pages. So much fun. Thank you for giving me a lot more resources to use. I love the way you create the pages with art journaling on one side and written journaling on the other. I'll do a whole journal that way.

Sam's Club use to carry some of the Stampington magazines but mine stop caring magazines. If yours does check. Also Jo-Ann's carries them as well as the UK stamping magazines that come with stamps and dies. I love Daphne's diary magazine and have a hard time cutting it in any of the stampington's up. The journaling magazine definitely gives you good ideas.

I was watching this I kept thinking how disappointing it was that Sam's no longer carries magazines. They did have several of those.

Getting them at Joann's is full price and you can't use coupons. I tried subscribing to some of stampington's mags but was always missing issue. Got to the point they probably thought I was making it up since it happened so many times that they cancelled my subscription. customer service was not easy to work with. They would say, very derogatory, again, really? Like they didn't believe me.

In the beginning I had a hard time ripping the pages from my magazines. 😮 Learned to be creative by photo copying if a page has a great image on the backside, too - I use everything. Even use the magazine cover to take and decorate over a plain travelers notebook. 😊 Thank you for sharing your tips! 👍

I couldn’t cut mine, either. Then my library started a magazine exchange area and I ended up with waaaaay too many stashed away. It was easier to chop them up after seeing the pile!

Hello! Very unique (to me at least!). I do use magazines, but not in the same way. Perhaps I need to start as I have so many! I was just gifted some vintage Country Living magazines. And discovered some children’s magazines while looking for some items for a Mary Poppins journal. Wee Wisdom is not a magazine I had heard of, however it has great illustrations and articles that have my mind buzzing with ideas. Bonus, they can be found for a very reasonable price. The covers are awesome, however I found a lot of 10 without covers on EBay from the 1920’s. Less than $2 (plus shipping). Not only will I use for journals, we are enjoying reading them and playing along with some of the “games” (like hidden items pictures). Thanks for sharing and inspiring! (My hubby is from Ohio!)
