I love how thought-out and concise your video was! I have been using Day One since November 2014 and it is my most-used app / service. I put everything I can in there because it really is meant, for me, to be a digital representation of my life - all the good, bad, ugly, indifferent. Thank you for the video!

What a thoughtful, balanced blend of wider sphere/history and "this is what works for me" -- helps anchor the core benefits as both universally beneficial and personally relevant. Thank you for sharing this personal experience with us!

I started journaling by accident when I started some major life changes. This in-depth look at the why and how of journaling really helped out. Thanks!

Wow! I stumbled upon your webinar through a writing blog I follow. You are an excellent communicator and presenter. Journaling is a very personal and unique activity, but you eloquently describe how and why to journal. You did so better than anywhere else on the web 👏

Interesting and informative. I also have been using Day one for a few years, and this has encouraged me to journal more often. Thanks for the presentation.

Thanks, David. My daily routine was up-ended by COVID-19 and 16-hour work days. I’m looking to restore my meditation and reading habits - and I think you just persuaded me to try journaling again, too. I think Obsidian will be my tool of choice.

Thanks for sharing your wealth of experience. I remember that I previously really liked using Day One. Then they went to a subscription model, and I lost interest. But, really, the cost of a Day One subscription is about the same as the cost of a nice paper journal or two. So I'm going to take a look at it again - along with some of the other options you mentioned.

I have always struggled to find depth in my journaling, until recently. As a lawyer, I do a lot of letter writing, and so I recently began to journal by writing letters. The first letter was to a relative - I simply copied it into my journal and (thankfully) never sent it to my relative. It was the most personal and insightful journal entry I had ever drafted. So, I have decided to write letters to a recently dead member of a beloved rock group in my journal. He is my muse now, I guess. Letter writing motivates me to provide background and context in my entries, rather than just assuming that I already know all of that - I still need to explain it to my muse. This approach results in a much richer journaling experience for me.

Obsidian is free, unless you sign up for syncing for $8 / month and there are plugins to allow recording of voice, video or photos. You can even make drawings using the excalidraw plugin. I use this feature alot on my Samsung galaxy note phone to draw doodles.

Do you know of an IOS Shortcut that will automatically enter Apple Health data into Day One Journal?
