Wow. What the world needs now is Elizabeth Gadd. This is so organic and peaceful. Amazing film making chops. Girl, you got it going on. I just love your zen like personality without a hint of falseness. You have talent and creativity flowing out like your hair. When I look at you I kinda see myself. When I was your age I looked a little like you. The long hair thing. I am 70 now but back in the day…yowzer, I was a little forest nymph myself, a major tree hugger. I’m not up for long hikes anymore but thank you so much for inviting us along. My heart aches to do what you are doing. Enjoy your youth and take good care of yourself so later in life you will continue to live the life you love. I mean this in the most complementary way. You’re a freak of nature!

As an artist myself, your documentary style videos of spectacular destinations with the self portraits thrown in are my favourite. I love listening to your insightful narrative while looking at beautiful images. It speaks to my soul. I can think of no better way to start my day, than with a steaming hot coffee, watching your nature inspired videos. I currently live in the Middle East with nothing but sand and city, you are my pseudo nature fix. Keep making these beautiful videos 😍.

Hi, Elizabeth! Today I watched your video in the first time, and i like all that you do and how you do it. I think that the secret is in the balance of all parts, that you called. I live in Sibiria. We have a lot of beautiful places around. But your nature is just amazing, astonishing, fantastic and so on! Your technique of filming is perfect! And please talk with us from time to time, as you did it in this video. It's very warm and nice.

Hi Lizzy. I loved all of your video ideas. The way you capture your footage (foto or video) is breathtaking, magical and inspiring. I do really like the idea of “what gear to take on a hike etc etc”. I am an absolute beginner when it comes to photo and videography so perhaps a more detailed video “what gear I use for taking certain fotos/videos” would also be of great interest for me. However, as everyone mentioned already, you follow your heart and your spirit so whatever video you decide to post, I will be watching it for sure. THIS video made me cry; in a beautiful way. For a while now I experience this ‘pull towards the north’; I miss the seasons and cold and snow so watching this video I could ‘feel’ being there in the backcountry. Thank you for filling my little heart with what it currently yearns and I’m sending lots of warm spring sun to you from Australia. ❤
@ElizabethGaddPhotographyАй бұрын
Awwwweeee wow, thank you SO much!! Reading this seriously made me so happy to know that my video could resonate with you and that you could "feel" being there in the backcountry. ❤ Gosh, that's a big compliment if I can make someone cry (in a good way, haha)! Truly, thank you. ❤ I hope you get the opportunity to follow that pull to the north! Sending love back down to you in Australia!

I have been to Assiniboine in all seasons. But I think the Fall is the best. Beautiful to see it all again and to remember: meeting a grizzly and her two cubs, listening to a lone loon call out on Magog Lake as an eagle flew overhead, and sharing the sunrise with a marmot from the Nub. ... and yes, frightening thunderstorms (that also caused me to make an early exit from the park).

Hi Elizabeth! I've been a silent watcher for some time and I adore your cinematography and your warmth! Similar to many commenters here I think I would watch anything you post ❤Your eye for capturing the details and the stories you tell is magical! I have your beautiful self portraits as my background on my computer, and every time I look at it I'm reminded of a life outside of work & hustle :) I moved first time in my life outside of city into suburbs last year with my husband (in Ontario), and I'm really enjoying the small trails around our house. We eventually want to get a farm in a quiet place where we can be closer to nature. I really want to get into more about hiking and photography, and hoping to save to attend your retreats one year, and I'm a beginner in all of them. So both your tips about what gear to bring into hikes and more information about preparation and trails, and also your process of self portraits and your art would be immensely helpful if that's what you're leaning towards ❤I've seen some videos of yourself where you hiked alone and I really want to do those too, but feeling a bit nervous to start myself - Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures ❤

Thank you so much for yet another video full of magic and wholesomeness ♥️ To me there is something very special about when creators/artists create whatever they feel most passionate about or drawn to in that particular season of their life and just follow their inner calling even if they feel like they might be all over the place in terms of their art. That being said, I happily watch whatever you decide to share with us and based on all the other supportive comments I have read, it feels like there are many beautiful souls here who are feeling the same and support you for being you. Sending lots of love to you, Kris and Pepper.

Beautiful video! I loved it all. Mount Assiniboine…wow. Some kind of Lord of the Rings/ancient saga/fortress of elders/stern-faced-holder-of-wisdom vibes there! The trailer version that you showed on IG was spectacular too, because the vertical format was so *chefs kiss* for the location. As to your last question - please yourself. Anything you want to talk about, or share, will be lovely. Every video of yours has landed perfectly for me and seemed to say just what I needed to hear in the moment. ...But if I did have a little nudge towards something, I think it would be about the mental side of taking these trips. The carving out of the time …The “allowing” that I struggle with so much. The clarity you seem to have about prioritizing this time… it is a fight I often lose.

My goodness I love these videos from you, thank you so so much for sharing with us! I am interested in seeing more of the challenges you must face, both in the camping trips themselves, and in documenting them with your amazing photography. I love seeing the struggles behind one’s art, I think it adds a richness to the final product. And honestly, I have never seen such beautiful photography as yours. The images you create of yourself out in the wilderness resonate deeply with me. Even if setting up a shot like that takes hours - even if it leaves you shivering or mosquito bitten, those images you’ve created hold such majesty to them that I can’t help but think you are following a divine calling. Also, I love when you just sit and chat with the camera. You’re a nice friend to have 🥰 So much love, from the east coast 🇨🇦❤️

Hi Lizzie! This video was stunningly beautiful and I enjoyed seeing your adventures through the wilderness. 35 Km through snow and altitude in one day is quite amazing, and I'm glad the bear stayed away. These last two videos look different than your older ones. What gear are you using these days please? I enjoy all of your videos, but I think my favorite parts are 1) the nature scenes and your journey through them 2) showing your art process. I look forward to your next one!
@ElizabethGaddPhotographyАй бұрын
Thank you Melanie!! ❤ That means a lot! I've been using Sony alpha camera gear for the last several years, and last year upgraded to a Sony a7R V, and I'm super happy with the video quality! I usually use a Sony 35mm f/1.8GM lens, or my Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 II GM (new to me, and I LOVE it!). The last two videos also have some clips that my partner Kris filmed on his Canon R5 , and he carried a huge 100-500mm lens with him, so most of the wildlife shots and super zoomed scenes were filmed with that. 😊
@melaniemyhreАй бұрын
@@ElizabethGaddPhotography Thank you so much for sharing that!!! I’m a Sony girl too. I’m currently using an a7iii, but when I upgrade I’m definitely going to look at the A7R V!
