Welcome back fellow Adirondack explorers! In these next few videos you will see me set out on what many consider the "quintessential Adirondack canoe trip" going from Long Lake to Tupper Lake via the Raquette River. This trip sees me set out mostly solo, except for 1 day with my father on Long Lake. The fishing was exquisite throughout the entire trip, with action almost every single day. There is a lot to see, so this video only covers Days 1, 2 and 3. Look out for part 2 soon!

If you want to check out some great locally made lures, look up Parsons Lures on Facebook. I caught quite a few nice Pike right on this trip you see here using them.

Lovin' this one Jay! When I paddled out from visiting Rondeau's hermitage I took a break at that sandy beach camp spot with the picnic table. Also visited the Kelly Point leanto and stairs. I love this Lake! Can't wait to do this entire trip the same way you did it! I stayed at Plumley #2 and that was a fantastic spot. I think it was you on a previous video that stayed at the Island House leanto in the big pines? That looks like an awesome site! Jeff

Long Lake really is something special, not just the camping and fishing but that entire town and the history in the area. It is truly a marvel.

Great video. Coincidentally, I go to pick up my canoe tomorrow, so this was perfect timing for the video. Couldn't believe that mess at the first campsite! Really annoys me that people do that. The second spot is one of my favorites from my time doing the NPT. Stunning views. I'll stay tuned for part 2 :) Cheers

@@DaxWoodsWanderer I'm getting a swift cruiser pack boat. I had narrowed it down to a few options and it was a super tough choice, but I think the swift boat will work for me.

Part way through great vid. Thanks for sharing. Went many times with my Dad canoeing. Real nice place. Couple negatives on the lake, motor boats can be crazy, not courteous with canoes. Can be lots of noise from the cottages and sometimes lean tos. But would still recommend, especially in the fall. Will never understand why people leave trash at campsites. And there are some MONSTER pike in the lake.

@@DaxWoodsWanderer Fair enough! I actually posted the comment and then thought about the fact that you probably wouldn't clean up one mess while making another - but I see so many smokers just toss butts out of car windows or into the water when boating, especially here on the Chesapeake. Quite disturbing...

So on trips like this I often have way more food with me than I actually need, and it would just feel super wasteful to keep a fish when my food barrel is still that heavy. You will occasionally see me keep a Trout or Walleye as a nice treat, but most of the time I try to get them back in the water to get a bit bigger for my next time I come through.
