I still can not believe that someone shares so valuable knowledge for free. What a time to be alive! Thank you Gediminas, this will be the great series!

Well I do think that knowledge and information need to be free, that's the only way the "quality" of the global population can keep up with the constantly growing "quantity".

Document of constructions, design process, design analysis and 'simulation' is the whole package. You are doing exactly that. These series of videos in combination of Rhinoceros Grasshopper integration with a good pipelining of production will make this channel a great school for architects and engineers. You DO know how much people needs this material. It's fundamental to teach what we do, why architects are needed and what their work is about. THIS SELLS perfectly our profession and explains why there should be architects. Thank you so much.

Yea, I was hoping that this would be a useful topic to start up. Just showing the inner workings behind any building.

@@DesignGoBrr Our greatest feat is to construct a model of 1 inch equals one feet literally. :P Grasshopper is THE OLDEST tool in our history (contribution from the old knowledge of geometry from Greece, India, Egypt, Arabia among many others). It sums up logic, mathematics, science, 'the device tool, and ' the testing ground' in the language of visual scripting. It's literally the 'future-past' approach of the actors, the action, the scene and the script. Your work is deeply inspiring. Helps a lot of people searching for this type of knowledge.

Looks like fun to have clients over their that are open to fresh ideas and custom designs. Im a architect over in america, new york to be exact, and 99% of our residential market is all cookie cutter designs. Our populous dosn't appreciate our craft anymore and just demands designs to be done as fast and cheap as possible. On a side note... im only familiar with stick-frame construction since that's what we build with but what material are you generally using for exterior walls that demands such a thick wall hatch, understanding that will probably incorporate multiple layers of vari. materials? Great to see this type of content tho!
@DesignGoBrr3 жыл бұрын
It's all about where you position yourself as a company. You can either go for the cookie-cutter - money printing machine approach, where you can mass-design houses and each architect can work on 5 buildings at the same time. Or you go for custom/higher class house market, where you struggle with each project and your employees can work on 2 projects at the same time maximum. I think that the cookie-cutter approach is much better financially but less rewarding intellectually. But yea - TL;DR: same 99% rule that you mentioned applies in EU as well, it's just a matter of persistence in searching/waiting for that 1%. Now as for the walls - we have a new regulation for energy efficiency for all residential buildings, which is EU A++ class. This basically means that any new residential construction has to come real close to being energy-neutral (yearly average). Solar panels help, but not much as we're pretty high up north. Summers reach +35 celsius, winters reach -30 celsius. Sooooo we have 250mm monolith/concrete blocks/lignacite + 300mm heat insulation + 30mm sound insulation (or a ventilation gap for wooden cladding )+ 20mm facade cladding. Would be so much easier to make elegant designs in Italy or California.....

@@DesignGoBrr most definitely. I've found the firms over here that are able to have a stable business model with only taking on the higher end clients are the ones with multiple sources of income and aren't solely dependent on those 2 or 3 projects per year. and i just try to always keep in mind that the grass always looks greener so just gotta make do with what you can get
