I watched Journey when Steve Perry was the lead singer. He has an awesome voice. I also watched Arnel on stage. He has a lot of energy and can belt those songs as you’re listening to Steve. Both great singers and brought Journey back into our lives. Will forever a fan.... faithfully!

Journey with SP concerts mostly in US but with AP, it become globally. In addition to that, the fan base from 80's to present generation. People surely can distinguished the difference between the two. They came from different genrations but 1 band, keeping up the legacy, for the love for their fans. Arnel indeed may have been a great substitute singer for a legend band. Many 80's bands like STYX INXS, VanHalen, and Queen never has there been better fill in frontmen than Arnel did for Journey. He can never fill Steve Perry's vocals but he is worth listening to.

I like and I respect Arnel. He's helped to keep the band on the road for about 10 years now?. That's not easy and besides his voice and charisma, it means he gets along with the others. Even Perry likes him. But I just hope I can see Steve Perry again on stage with the band even if it's for one full concert and to sing some of the songs from "Trial by Fire" since they never got to tour for that album. In my opinion is the band's best album. "Escape" was great and some of their biggest hits came out of that album but "Trial by Fire" is just amazing and Steve's voice had this different new way of harmonizing syllables ( like a finishing touch ) to the end of a verse which is hard for me to explain, but he didn't use to sing like that back in the days on the studio versions only while singing live.An example of what I'm trying to say is the live version of "Still they Ride" from the album " Greatest Hits Live" when he finishes the last verse: "...chasing thunder" the way he plays with his voice and moves it so harmonically, none of the other singers have that ability. Nor Augeri or Pineda can do that. And that's Perry's trademark that no one can do regardless of the power in their voices.

People keep comparing and calling him new, but he’s been there for over a decade. Almost as long as Steve Perry. They’ve created an album with him. The man is a part of Journey, you can like it or not. It looks to me like they’ve been over-touring, and they are worn out. Just be glad they’re still going, when Steve Perry began to get worn out, he stopped doing music for 22 years. Don’t get me wrong though, Steve Perry is my all time favorite!

Watch the 3 videos on here from Traces....the level of finesse and perfect sound Steve and the band laid down at his state of the art live recording studio is nothing short of pure awe. I do not understand the hate. Arnel never, NEVER, claimed to have replaced, be better or even at par with Steve. Steve is an icon and the world loves him. But thats no reason to hate on an amazing talent like Arnel.
