OH NO :( ..I have to go see them this summer...haven't seen them since before Arnel when they had Steve Augeri...I saw the Arnel documentary a couple months ago and I can tell you, Arnel had HUGE range 6 years ago and it saddens me to see that he's lost a little of it....still a great performance though. Hope to get many more years out of this group.

And, oh, BTW, we have give credit to Neal Schon, also because he's the master of the Journey's guitar works...I'm a big fan of him, too...matter of fact I'm learning to play the guitar solo of Separate ways right now...I believe that Neal Schon should be on the Top 10, Top 20, what have you, as one of the greatest guitarist in Rock and Roll...and shame on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame management for not inducting Journey yet to this day, they deserve to be up there along with all these iconic Rock bands...

Just enjoy the music people, I guess you wouldn't be watching all these Journey videos if you're not a fan...BUT if you really are a real fan of this BAND, it shouldn't matter...Respect all singers of Journey, that would be my advise to you all, you stereotypes, haters and racist...You should give credit to all the singers 'cause they all have done their part and their best to keep this BAND exist for generation to generation...Heck ! I can't believe all the people that "think" Arnel is doing a bad job. Psh! He's singing live with no backing track. Steve Perry never sang how it was on the album either when on tour. So many armchair vocal coaches out there. We get it, you don't like him, but he is singing it better than anyone in the audience could possibly dream to, so time to just shush your keyboard mouths and click away.

Arnel is not loosing his voice folks. These non professional recordings rarely capture the true sound especially of the singer. This concert received flawless reviews. Arnel has learned very well how best to preserve his voice after 5 yrs of hard touring. He certainly is NOT greedy for money and sings in his off time for pleasure and at the request of his many fans. He must use it regularly or loose it.

The song is tuned down to Eb or it's a half step lower than the recorded version. This makes a big difference and is reasonably easier to sing. Journey is really trying to save his voice as 4 plus years is starting to take its toll on him. I like Arnel, but the high Bb is not consistently there for him and you can hear the strain in his vocals. But hey, he's living the dream and making good money doing it, but his voice will never be the same when Journey is done with him.

Perry wasnt an original member anyway. The original lineup of Journey hasnt existed for well over 30 years. And as far as preferring to see a cover band do this; that logic escapes me completely.

It is pretty good. Obviously, I doubt Steve could sing even half like this. I suppose this is what you have to do to keep it goin. Keep your career. At least though, when QR or STP or VH replaced their singer they were trying to move forward with new material, that was worth hearing. Replacing a guy just for the sake of singing the same ol stuff live seems..... opportunistic. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I'd do it, but I doubt you're going to get much respect from rock fans who's first concern is creative integrity.

Journey were a bit anticlimactic on the night. Arnel may have been the best singer there in a technical sense, but he didn't engage with the audience as well as Coverdale for Whitesnake, who stole the show. Even Bowes of Thunder who looked like your embarrassing Dad when he gets too enthusiastic in karaoke with his short white hair, style of dress and hip shaking, knew how to handle the crowd, even though everyone was there to see Whitesnake and/or Journey. Many people started leaving.

The new singer is ok, however, if I paid to go see Journey and Steve Perry wasn't the front man, I'd be pissed. Same goes for Stone Temple Pilots and Queensryche. It's not about being able to do the music or not, it's about seeing the complete original bands that we grew up with. Otherwise it's cheaper to go to a bar and see a cover band.....

I mean, the tenor is just taxing on anyone's pipes. And Arnel is no exception. Plus he keeps on singing when he is not touring. At his club (it's now closed), on TV, etc. he needs to rest his voice when he is not touring. No need to be greedy with money. Coz right now it sounds pretty bad.
