25:23 The reason why you couldn't break your bed was because of the mining fatigue. The mining fatigue just happened to wear off when you were trying to break the bed. If you were to break the bed at any point after getting mining fatigue but before it wore off, you'd find that every block felt like you were breaking obsidian with your bare hands.

While sand is sand, in Minecraft there are deserts (sand) and beaches (sand) - the only difference is the biome designation. Mining Fatigue is the effect you got from proximity to the Ocean Monument - great jump scare. In the Monument, there are Guardians and Elder Guardians. The Fatigue effect is why you couldn't mine fast - drink a bucket of milk to get rid of the effect, otherwise it lasts 5 mins. Mojang needs to somehow balance the in-game music - some pieces get very loud to where they drown you out, other pieces can barely be heard at all which I imagine makes it hard for a content creator to balance while playing.

If you want more for your mine while mining in Minecraft, there's an enchantment for that. It's called "fortune" and the highest level is 3. get 13 or so more bookshelves and see if you can get it from the enchanting table.

To clear up confusion, the snow that you fall into (powder snow) is different from the snow that you don't fall into. It has nothing to do with the snow layers on top of it (it's just that the game does not place snow layers on top of powder snow). If you break the snow layer on top of normal snow, or go to some snow under trees. you'll find you won't sink. Powder snow has a slightly different texture. It is a little more coarse. And you pick it up with a bucket where as normal snow is picked up with a shovel.

They only attack if there is a baby polar bear around or if you attack them first. Having them attack the player for food would be interesting, but at the moment that's not how the polar bears work.

Sweet berries have a couple uses, but yes, they will sting you. In the past, I've created lines of sweet berries as a trap for mobs.

When exploring it's so easy to have your inventory get filled (with bundles coming out soon that'll be slightly less of a problem) but I have sometimes determined it to be beneficial to leave behind things like the crafting table, furnace, a chest with less-than-immediate-need items and take note of the coords to return at a later date for retrieval. Though when thousands of blocks out, maybe not as convenient. Wood for a crafting table & cobble for the furnace are pretty easy to get enroute.

You get attacked by bears because they're proctecting that baby. Noticed when there's no baby around and just bunch of adult polar bears they're not hostile.

The "ghost octopus" that got you in the water is the Guardian of that Ocean Monument you sailed over. It affects you with mining fatigue so that you can't break blocks easily for three minutes, hence why you couldn't break your bed at first, the effect just happened to wear off whilst you were trying to break your bed.

I would recommend some underground exploration too. Besides the resources you can gather on the way the cave systems can be really stunning and there are biomes you haven’t seen yet and multiple structures to be found underground, too. There are three types of „ovens“. Normal furnace can smelt/cook anything that can be smelted/cooked but it is slower than the other two. The blast furnace is only for ores. And then there is the smoker for all the food/meat items. The campfire is an efficient way to cook foods without the need for an extra fuel source. you can place the food items on the four corners and they pop off when they are ready.

The blast furnace smelts your ores faster than a normal furnace. Same with a smoker, it cooks your food faster. Also you are extremely lucky you have keep inventory on. You would have just about lost everything.

20:30 That jumpscare was from an elder gardian. It sits in an underwater temple.The effect makes you mine verry slow. Its a structure you could go to later on in the game. It does not have much loot in it so only do this when you are ready! If you want to remove an effect, like the mining fatigue drink some milk.

Agreed. You can go back in editing and look up the coordinates if that's the ocean monument you want to conquer, or find one closer to home. Once you're fully decked out in diamond armor and well versed in alchemy (you'll need to make potions of water breathing for the extended time underwater), you can start considering it. I will say, though, that the sea lanterns are very nice alternatives to torches.

And just to add on to that...one of the reasons why the ocean monument is tough is that the debuff is persistent from the elder guardian. It's not practical to attempt it until you're confident enough to go in there and not break any blocks in the process (because you pretty much can't).

While fighting the ocean monument, try to break contact with the guardians by placing blocks. Those eye-lasers are deadly. Also, dispite what this guy said, there actually is a decent amount of exclusive loot. While you can find prismarine crystals in other places, the best place to find them are ocean monuments. Where there is quite literally an infinite amount of them. Also, an exclusive armor trim, that has a 60 percent chance of being found (20% chance per elder guardian). And the best one, sponge! Which allows you to remove large chunks of water.

1:15:27 “It’s Minecraft, how creepy can it be.” Well about that. You haven’t heard of the deep dark yet. Maybe explore some caves near the y=-50 regions. Also. Tips from the snow video: Snow is mined with a shovel, the snow that sinks you isnt just any snow without an extra layer it’s called powdered snow and you can distinguish it by either trying to scoop it with an empty bucket or by looking really closely and seeing if it has more texture than the other snow, that stone structure you found is called a cold ocean ruin it has suspicious gravel in it that you can brush with a brush to get loot, the structure with paper is called a shipwreck and usually they’re underwater but you can find them above water and in many different shapes and sizes + they have anywhere between 1-3 chests, nautilus shells are useful for a conduit which is really good, any item with a name color other than white is useful (don’t throw them away), goats can be milked and you feed them wheat (the main use for them is having them ram against a wall for goat horns), there are around 20 biomes that you haven’t found yet, and somewhere around 50 mobs you haven’t found yet. Tips for today’s video: That jumpscare from the ocean was from an elder guardian and thats the animation for it giving you an effect called mining fatigue and it was because you went over something called an ocean monument. Also the mining fatigue was why you couldn’t mine the bed quickly also it’s convenient that it ran out just as you were breaking it. Also I’d recommend exploring caves because there’s a lot of underground structures and you only saw 1/3 cave biomes, one I mentioned in the beginning of this comment and another that’s filled with the pointed dripstone stuff. Also there’s way more structures above and under ground that you haven’t seen yet (also 3 structures in the nether too and not gonna mention them cause spoilers). Anyway please explore caves and don’t bring buddy it’ll just make it harder.

Scott, when you were rowing your boat, you past very close to a massive underwater temple monument. They are home to creatures known as guardians and elder guardians. Every Underwater monument contains within it 3 Elder Guardians. They are big and tough. When you travel anywhere near their home they cast a de buff spell on you which strips away your ability to mine blocks efficiently. The de buff is marked by a spoon looking icon that eventually goes away after about a minute or two.

That thing was a Guardian zapping you with it's mining fatigue ray because you got too close to the ocean monument that it's guarding. Blast furnaces smelt ores twice as quick as a normal furnace, but use the same amount of coal.

You'll know when you have found a mushroom fields (the proper name) when you find mushroom cows called "mooshrooms" (haha funny name, I know), and the ground will be topped with a gray substance called mycelium. And also there will be giant mushrooms, of course. But giant mushrooms can also be found in roofed forests and swamps.

Crossbows takes longer to load and deals less damage than bows, so over all they are worse than bows. However once loaded they remain loaded until fired so you can load them out of combat and then fire instantly in combat, and they are more accurate than bows.

I know sometimes the strange noises you hear scare me. The worst was when me, my son, and a friend were playing. Several times, when I left the house we built, I swore someone was standing at the edge of the forest . I told them, but they didn't believe me until a sign appeared by the door. It said "I see you". I decided to place a sign that said, " Who are you?" Went about mining so forth. When we returned to the house. The sign said, "Look behind you. This time, they saw someone standing at the edge of the forest. Our friend said nope, not happening, and left the game . My son said log out. Then he erased the world.

Don't feel bad about the bears. On Bedrock they spawn all the time, my very first Bedrock world I spawned in a snow plains village and the bears were the abolute bane of me! Spawning near the village and attacking me out of nowhere. I developed a habit of straight up killing them on the spot haha. They are just big jerks in my experience.

1:29:57 Give one an item, and they will pick up the item that you gave them, and give it to you. Or alternatively, you can play a note block to make them place the item on the note block. They are the only creature in Minecraft to reproduce asexually (they don't need a mate to procreate). To make an allay do asexual reproduction, simply give one an amethyst crystal while music in a jukebox is playing. To make a jukebox, place a diamond around 8 planks. And to get a music disc, make a skeleton kill a creeper (if only that other creeper didn't blow it up last episode. But you can always get more). You can also find music discs inside some chests in certain structures (for Pigstep, Otherside, 5, and Relic (Relic is found while doing archaeology inside a trail ruins (not trial chambers, completely different)))

Scott, with a blast furnace, you can put in your junk iron armor and iron weapons and tools. The blast furnace will smelt them down into iron nuggets. Iron nuggets can be used to make iron ingots or lanterns.

Holy moly, where to start? - All this time you had ANOTHER village and another desert pyramid just beyond... wow --You've made brushes now, though, if I recall? In the desert pyramids and desert wells (I noticed one next to the river in your last few minutes), there is some sand that looks a little extra coarse. If you "use" a brush on it (holding left trigger), you can find some interesting items. - I honestly have a habit of burning down pillager outposts lol - The big jump scare -- if you're interested might be time to check out the video I posted last week, but I also know making content is time consuming so to save you the trouble, Ocean Monuments generate in any "deep" ocean type and the ghostly image accompanies a status effect called Mining Fatigue that lasts for a while. It wore off in the middle of you breaking the bed, which is why it started so slow and then worked fine. I had forgotten but episodes ago I remember wondering when you were going to "discover" the monuments. - Once you have a few certain enchantments, you WILL be able to collect those underwater lights. They're called Sea Lanterns and yes they're super cool. - The Allays (blue flying creatures) will follow you if you offer them an item to hold--it can be anything, but best to be a common resource because they will fly around and pick up any of that same item that they find off the ground and deliver them to you. Click your "use" button on them (left trigger) to give them what you are holding or take it back from them. - The grass and leaf color is dependent on some hidden values that include temperature (warm humid biomes will generally be greener while drier or colder biomes will be muted) - You 100% knocked on wood! "If I die I can respawn here" and then you died! Finding villages that generated overlapped with things they shouldn't (like lava pools) is definitely part of the fun, as the randomness creates some unique moments, like deciding if you're really going to rush into a burning building to save those villagers. - I'll have to double-check to see if there are any differences with Bedrock, but I don't believe you can feed polar bears at all. You CAN feed foxes though; they eat sweet berries, but they're scared of you. That's a pretty big data dump for now. Great video! You had quite the experience on your journey home!

What I want to know is how did you have your bed when you started episode 27? You left it behind in the shipwreck at the end of episode 26. I was waiting to see what would happened when you realized you left it behind. I was a bit disappointed to see that. Just a bit sus dude.

Your X coordinates are 500 and you just went from 2900 to 3023. You're going the wrong way. The numbers need to go down. At 38:56 that is the same body of water you just came from. When you went into the forest you made a circle and came back. Look at your coordinates that's how you know.

Actually, that hasn't happened for me yet which is why I always break the boat. I have a couple other off channel worlds that I mess around in with my daughter Ellie. Mostly just for building houses together, but literally everything that rides in a boat with me never teleports out (owned or not). It never matters how far I go away, my dogs never follow me until the boat is destroyed. Weird I guess.
