I think one of the most important teachings of Eckhart is to allow things to be as they are rather than resisting what is. This is so powerful. When you don't resist what is, Life (which is you) is not blocked from helping you, so even the worst situation can drastically change for the better.

I feel the same. It's just when we're nervous and get conscious of it, we can feel the resistance in our bodies and then the nervousness starts to slowly vanish. "Get present and observe it," focus is very powerful

This concept cannot be taught but only be understood. The secret is we are the universe (he actually revealed it quite a lot of times), we create our own reality. Once you get it, it blows your mind away. Everything is an extension of ourselves. Without consciousness, nothing really exists.

Acurry17 On a basic level I (think I) understand. The decisions I make and actions I take each day create situations and outcomes, hence, my actions create my reality. For example, if I drive to the store using Street A, I may avoid an accident I would have had if I had taken Street B. I have created a certain reality (no accident) based on my decision and subsequent actions. While that is a very basic hypothetical, it is where my head is at. I sense you are referring to something higher level or abstract, and that is where I am unclear or perhaps missing the bigger picture. Am I correct in that assumption? Thank you.

You need to go within, explore without anyone's opinion (free of conditioning) does not matter what Eckhart or the world says because it's not your experience. You cannot experience someone else's experience. You can read about their experience, maybe gain some knowledge but that knowledge is really not of any use because it's not an experience. The video itself is possible because you are conscious of it. You are already it and you will continue to be it forever and ever and ever for eternity! You have always been here.

Hi, I think I have an example as to how thought can change our path. So recently I was given some news that a few months ago I would have felt my life was crumbling. Instead I took in the news and then became aware of a thought pattern that wanted to come in. The thought was that this was not right, its unfair, I am the victim here. But actually I could see this was just a way of thinking. By seeing this I was also able to let go of the control I felt I should have on the situation. The victim thoughts have wanted to come back and at one stage I did start to identify with this. Then I realise the thoughts won't bring anything positive to my outlook so i can once again let go of the thoughts. ❤

There are too many distractions. What I think is most impressive is the sense of humor in his talks. This stuff is so dry and so out of reach for so many people that a sense of humor helps a lot. To offer no resistance to the present moment is a very arduous process not easy by any means. If that is easy a lot of them might have been enlightened by now. If are able to accept our own death gracefully then any spiritual process would have served its goal.

Grieving atm. Ex husband was a malignant narcissist. Might as well say he was possessed by a Djinn demon entity from as far back in his life as a child. His adult body was always in pain & his mind send fourth words of anger on a regular & repetitive basis. He killed himself 15 weeks ago & although I grieve his lost opitunities of self realisation, something has woken up inside of me that is not sad. Suffering is needed only for those who keep comfortable in shutting their eyes inside illusion, so that they are prompted to open their eyes. Suffering in and of itself has no absolute worth just like a healthy person does not need pain to tell him that something is wrong with his health. The goal of existence is happiness - joy - end of suffering - just as to be healthy forever is a lofty goal in earthly life.

Even though I am all for finding new ways of looking at life as it is, finding a new teacher, this was a bait and switch commercial pure and simple. Yes, the clip was cute, funny and we are given a few crumbs of true understandings as he understands things. I hope to look beyond my own irritation to find out more but it won't be at the top of my priority list because of the commercialism. This organization certainly isn't the only one. I do not deny the man the rights to earn his own living in any way, an same time energy exchange is fair in most cases. It's the carefully calculated edit here. Are we supposed to jump up and open our pocketbooks racing to hit the button? There is a very good video on YT, that is called ”Maya, the illusion of the self”. That documentary was an awakening for me (as a born christian to later convert to the buddhism) and the whole knowledge for me was in place and in peace. Eckhart is a wonderful beeing and to listen to him confirms my inner beliefe of a oneness in our combined conciousness. There is love and an extrem high intelligens in the whole picture and as Tolle says we maybe never in history of science can grasp all of this because we are trying to solve the mystery ”outside” but I think we find more answer to look within ourselves. There we have the whole universe, the same universe that is outside ourselves that we can feel with our senses. Because we are all one and the source is where we came from and will go back to.
