Oh Kodi Lee .....im the mom of a kiddo with a super rare genectic disease known as GAMT, a creatine disorder. If caught at birth its completely treatable, however his wasnt diagnosed until 5 years ago. Hes nonverbal and has epilepsy and autism also. He will be 18 next month. Im 40 today. Im currently trying to get my state to add to our newborn screenings as it was added to the RUSP last year, so that others dont have to live our story.....of struggle and defeat......This song spoke to my heart as ive been struggling lately and feeling defeated. I can only hope my son knows how much i love him and that i tried my very best daily. God has given you such an amazing gift with your voice and song writing. I know your mother is so super proud of you.....as we are of her!!!! Thank you for such a beautiful song that speaks volumes to the families of special needs and also others hearts. Love doesn't need words.. When my Nan was dying of cancer, she couldn't speak & seemed completely unaware of everything or anything. Seemingly completely unresponsive to anybody around her.. When we all came to visit her one final time, knowing she was close to the end.. We sang happy birthday to my sister & brought out her cake. My Nan suddenly came to life, colour came back in her face, she smiled, she sat up a little, just for that one moment. She passed away the next day. Your son knows your love.

Exactly right! When My Son was a senior in high school his dream.was to become a US Marine, the education system didn't believe in him, so they tried giving his dream. Away out of doubt and lack.of overcoming. My son, my hero proved who he was with the power of Jesus Christ inside and strength given unto perseverance because I told him you can do everything and God showed him you are everythingin me, when you have faith.

I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at 2 years of age, and my mom has "never left me behind" despite all of the challenges that was thrown at us. My mom pushed me beyond my limits and never treated me any differently. I grew up having a mom who showed nothing but unconditional love and support in all of the things I do in my daily life. Thanks to all of the early intervention, hard work, and dedication my mom has put in, I am about to graduate with my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy this year! The moment you sang the chorus and the bridge (where you spoke instead of sung) had me balling in tears because I feel the exact same way about how much my mom has pushed me to be the best version of myself I can possibly be. Kodi, you and I are the definition of what it means to exceed the expectations of others who have wrongfully judged us based on appearance and first impressions based on our diagnoses. Please accept my sincere condolences, I am so sorry for your loss. In the late 1970's, my whole family was involved in an aircraft accident. My Dad was the pilot. My brother the co-pilot. My Mom died late at night on Christmas Eve. So Christmas morning I had to tell my brother, who was also in hospital with several broken bones, that our Mom was dead, and that there was only a 5% chance that our Dad would live. We didn't have any relatives in the country in which we were living, and none came from overseas. I was 19. My brother was 16. I obviously remember my Mom on Christmas day, but I have refused to allow her death happening at Christmas time to impact on my ability to celebrate Christmas.

I had symptoms of a brain tumor while pregnant with my son. I was finally diagnosed and had surgery when he was 5. I bargained with God, saying I could handle everything as long as my son was OK. I had tears rolling down my face. It touched me in such a way that I can't even explain. Things have just been really emotionally difficult lately for me with my daughter and when I heard you sing about your mom, it made me think...
