I would have given my eye teeth to have Steve Perry sing this song to me. The voice, the face and can we talk about his gorgeous hair?! He was the epitome of the perfect man to me.

Steve Perry was in need of a hip replacement and said he was in severe pain during the production of this video yet you would never know by his performance. He is amazing!

Steve Perry wrote the lyrics to most of these songs! He's amazing!

Hey Johnny's Girl, your right, he is amazing! I looked up almost all their entire play list and Steve was co-writer on all of Journey's songs. Most of the songs were the collaboration of Steve, Jonathan and Neal, some were just Steve and Jonathan while others were Steve and Neal and some Steve was the writer on his own, like Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. That was all Steve. I wasn't surprised to learn that he is credited for having written on every song, because of his amazing talent and his lovely golden voice. Peace! 🎧🎶🎤💞

I'm so happy you reacted to this exceptionally beautiful song. Now you can see what Journey/Steve Perry fans know and what advice to support, and help you along this phenomenal Journey. This song was nominated for a grammy, and I just can't believe they haven't been on the Grammy stage, over and over again. Steve was in excruciating pain, during the making of this video. Needing hip replacement surgery, and in between takes was being packed down with ice. Still his performance was stellar, beautiful and rich with emotion, pitch perfect. It captured the Steve Perry/Neal Schon chemistry with Jonathan Cain and Steve Smith on drums adding to the Journey magic. I'm not sure that was Ross Vallory on bass I just couldn't recognize him for sure. Thank you so much for reacting to this video...you made us wait but it was well worth the wait. I hope you follow it with "Why Can't This Night Go on Forever". It's as close to or equally as beautiful and emotionally moving as When You Love A Woman. Listen to when he sings: "Tell me secrets oh that make you cry"...it makes you cry!

sorry for the wait.. youtube cleared it two days ago but i had to let ' oh sherrie' go first before this one..hope you enjoyed it..more coming

@@PhiliminizzyReacts Have they cleared Still They Ride, I think you said it was under review? The Live from Tokyo is the one I've seen most, It really brings out Steve's amazing vocal range and vocal abilities. Steve wrote about local home town boys that would cruise down main street in their hot engine performance cars " now nobody knows their name still they ride on wheels of fire", It's just simply beautiful.

As always, great reaction Philiminizzy!! "When You Love a Woman" has always been one of my all-time favorite Journey songs. "It's Just the Rain" is another spectacular song from that same album. There are actually a lot of great songs on that album. I hope you get a chance to check them out. Journey on my friend!! 🎤🎸🎵🎶

Wonderful song. So romantic. I think almost every woman from that time would just fantasize about him singing to you. Yes a lot of babies were made listening to Journey songs. Because you like Neil Schons guitar playing, you should react to Anyway you want it, the official video. Back in the early days of Journey

Really loving the "Journey" you are on. Keep em' coming. Just a few other bands you may be interested in. Chicago "25 or 6 to 4", Boston "More Than A Feeling" and Kansas "Carry On Your Wayward Sun". It is a deep dive into many great bands out there. Thanks and God Bless.

Phil you should check out the song “people and places” by Journey. I know you like Neal. Neal sings some solos in the beginning of it as well as playing guitar. There is a live version of it from Osaka Japan in 1980. Neal has an amazing voice too. I really think you will enjoy it.
