How Steve managed to do this Video, just shows what a pro he is. He’d done his hip in before they did this Video and he was walking with a stick and he was having to ice his hip in between takes but he got the job done beautifully. That’s the magic of Steve Perry. Another great song is Missing You of his second solo album, FOR THE LOVE OF STRANGE MEDICINE in 1994, is another great song. Personally I don’t think he’s ever not given 110% to anything he’s done and between you and me Hap I think you’ve got the Journey, Steve Perry bug.🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇬🇧🕺🏻💃🎸☘️

Yeah, that’s another gift and ability that Steve Perry has that Freddie Mercury didn’t. Again not the Freddy is not an amazing singer that he was gifted that he could do amazing things with his voice. However, he did not emote in his songs the way that Steve Perry does. Listen to a song that doesn’t get any AirPlay ever off the frontiers album side B called Troubled Child. I dare you to understand the meaning of that song and listen to him, sing it and not end up in tears by the end of that song, it’s stunning. It’s perfection and I cry every time I hear it, especially if you’ve gone through things as a child, whether you’ve been abused or had a hard childhood or were bullied, this song will, destroy you by the end of it, but it’s also amazing. His voice just touches your soul. It’s beyond words. Really listening to if you’ve ever been through any sort of trauma as a child. I’m telling you it is beyond therapeutic! Steve Perry is THE GOAT…PERIOD!!!! I love you, Stephen! I’m here if you’re looking for a new love in your life, call me darlin’!!! I love you!!!!!😘💕

True, but I’d have to add Sebastian Bach to that list as well. Bach has destroyed his voice now with so many years of screaming, hard partying, smoking. But age also has a way of altering their voice. Steve can still sing but not as high, or with as much power. Again age...

@@CyregO Jonathan Cain explained the meaning of Send Her My Love in an interview. In his Songfacts interview, Jonathan Cain talked about what inspired this song. "I had a girlfriend when I was a teenager and somebody had called backstage to one of the shows and said, 'Virginia still talks about you and your relationship.' It was just one of those offhanded comments. I looked at her and just said, 'Send her my love.' I walked out, and it hit me: 'Wait a minute, that's a song!' I went home and I called Steve Perry up and I said I came up with this idea, and we wrote it on the spot. A lot of this stuff we wrote was just on the spot. Very, very spontaneous. We kind of wrote with an urgency because we didn't have a lot of time together. The road was hard enough. When we did write, we wrote very intense. All the lyrics were, like, within hours. We didn't mess around."

Absolutely LOVE seeing your emotions as usual. A little background from me friend, I was a Steve Perry and Journey girl my whole teenage/adult life for a reason, Steve’s voice just melts my soul. One day a Legend named Freddie Mercury came into my life and flipped my world!🤣🤣🤣They are Amazing in both their own right. That being said, I am so excited to see you discovering Journey. This song was nominated for a Grammy Award and they were about to tour for this album and Steve hurt his hip and could not get ready for the tour. The song didn’t gain as much attention because without a tour, the music doesn’t get played as much. In its own right, When You Love A Woman is such a beautiful and soulful song that definitely showcases Steve’s Voice being that beautiful, soulful tenor that you absolutely know who is singing when you hear his voice from the first note. Great reaction Hap! Keep them coming ♥️

Beautiful!! This is a gorgeous heartfelt song and the amazing thing is that every word to the song is foretelling of his future.. without saying too much about him,_ Steve Perry does have a daughter.. he and an old fling had her when he was about twenty years old but they never married. Steve never married!! He met someone with whom he fell deeply in love and she was diagnosed with breast cancer and died a few months later.. it's heart-wrenching!! Kellie Nash died in 2012 & Steve had always kept a low profile even when he was with Journey and definitely there after. His girlfriend made him promise her before she died he would quit his Hiatus from music. those were her last words and she wanted him to return to music more than anything because he's so gifted. it's really a sad sad story and he couldn't even talk much about it when I saw him on the Today Show about four years ago. It's just pretty damn heartbreaking to meet the woman of your dreams when you're 55 or 57 years old and then she gets diagnosed with cancer and dies. I think he's sixty-nine or seventy now even though he doesn't look it.

Hap speaks about love....and is spot on! This song reminds me of my parents, 80 years old, married for 61 years (I think? 😂) The line, “you see your world inside her eyes” reminds me of them. 61 years with the same person and the only person, and now that they are older, this is absolutely true, especially for my father who relies on her 100%. The majority of his life has been with her and that is a rare thing. She is the same way about him, although she is more practical about it all, 😂. That may be because he is the one that is sick. But even now, I am almost 54, and as they have told me my entire life, you are the girl and you will be the one that helps us when we are old because your brother’s sure won’t be around. 😂 This ended up being true as well. And I wouldn’t be anywhere else, these moments are a gift. As is the example of their relationship. Thanks, Hap! ❤️

@reneeheknowsmyname67713 жыл бұрын
The story behind this video.........Perry had went to Hawaii to get ready to take this album 'Trial By Fire' on tour. However, has he was hiking he started to feel a sharp pain in his hip. He let the manager know what was going on. He went back home and saw the doctor. And comes to find out that he had hip issues and had needed major surgery. So during the filming of this video. During takes he was laid up with ice packs on his hip! Because he was in that much pain! Sadly it also during this time, when the band was ready to go on the road. This was going to be one heck of a World 'Reunion' Tour!! Perry was wanting to make sure he was getting the best advice he could for his hip. The tour was put on hold waiting for Perry. And then he received the call.......'letting him know that the band was going on the road!' Thus this was Steve Perry's final album with Journey!

@YvonneMartinez-t2h8 ай бұрын
That just pisses me off when people say that Freddy is better than Steve. These people obviously do not have any understanding of how to sing it all. Freddy’s good I’m not taking that away from him but a lot of what Freddy did was forced, his voice cracked both on records and live, and he did not have the effortless control that Steve had. Steve’s range was a little bit better I think but they were both equally good in range, but Steve’s voice was like glass and live. No one matches him live no one! To prove my point, I challenge anyone to look this up on KZbin it’s Steve Perry. You can’t sing this. What the guy is saying is that no one but him can sing it. And there’s like a range of six songs, journey songs that he sings with the most , difficult vocal runs known. When you get to lay it down which is an amazing journey song, you listen to the recorded version, and then he plays the live version and he hits these ridiculously high up-and-down notes that sound identical, whether it’s recorded or live. I’m sorry, Freddie Mercury could have never done that! Steve Perry does not get the credit that he deserves. He is the greatest vocalist ever end of story. No one had his range. No one had his control no one Could go up and down and up and down in the register so effortlessly without losing a breath. I’ve never heard anyone hold a note as long as he does and wins of March. Listen to how long that note is held it’s ri-damn-diculous! So, no, Freddy is not as good as Steve. Sorry! He is not they didn’t call Freddie Mercury The Voice, they called Steve Perry, The Voice.
