It's yesterday's music. Some singers just bring your soul there. They say Steve Perry is the Goat that he was Journey. He left the band years ago but apparently now is coming out with some of his own music at 75. You go Steve. ❤

That guitarist, by the way, is Neal Schon. He's one of the most underrated guitarists in the genre. He isna phenom who was hand picked at age 16 by Carlos Santana to play in Santana's band. Perry's peerless voice and Schon's guitar skills combined to make some incredible music.

My man, you have a true heart and a real passion. Don't ever let this world break that spirit. Don't let the current mainstream music convince you that's all there is. Music is a powerful force and I see you get that. Keep searching and find your heart so you can find you true self. This song was my son's wedding song and he had all but given up until he finally met the right woman. And, by the way, his name is Doug as well 😉

Steve Perry was actually in pain from a accident tvat happen in Alaska and needed hip surgery and this was his last song/video he ever maid with Journey, also a Steve Perry was not the main JOURNEY singer for the band there where others before him, Steve Perry was the singer that moved Journey to fame, the members of the band where and still are passionate about there music you can hear it in every song they play, I’ve always been a Passionate Journey fan

Yes.... I can't take my eyes off him!! I love the long hair!! It does hurt me to know he was in so much pain while making this due to needing his hip replacement. But he certainly doesn't sound like he's in pain.... a true professional. Love him!!! And this song. It's my favorite Power Ballad!!

You feel as if that first lick on Neal's guitar solo can pierce the heavens. And i hope it can, and my late wife can hear it from up there, and know the song it carries is how i feel still, and always will.

So glad to see young people like you enjoy the music I grew up on. Steve Perry's voice was considered the best of the time. He still sings today and sounds fabulous. Enjoyed your reaction. Keep exploring the older music and keep it alive. Check into the group Queen and you will be transformed.

Journey is one of my favorite bands of all time! All of their music with Steve Perry is incredible. Some of my favorite songs that you should definitely check out: Only The Young Ask The Lonely Who's Crying Now Lights Mother, Father Still They Ride Be Good To Yourself Stone In Love There are so many but these are staples in my life and playlists, they all evoke a certain feeling in me that not a lot of music achieves for me to the same degree. Thanks for your reactions!! :)

Doug, Thank you for reacting to Journey! I lived through this era of music and there's so very little that I can listen to today after growing up with Steve Perry/Journey. I won't even listen to Journey today with any of the lead singers after Steve Perry, and you Doug, seem to really get why. Your facial reactions show it. Steve Perry is known as "The Voice and he is someone you don't just hear, he's someone you feel to the very core of your being and your very heart and soul. The other's who did come after Steve were all good, and Arnell, the current lead singer of Journey is a humble talented guy, but no one comes close to Steve vocally, or could ever replace Steve Perry. He's the voice of generations and is so loved around the world. So happy you listed to that recommendation, they have so many beautiful, iconic songs they wrote together. You will fall in love with this amazing man's voice over and over again. Neal Schon is the lead guitarist you asked about, the musicians are incredible and together they created magic, crazy chemistry! Listen to the iconic "Don't Stop Belivin'" the most downloaded song to date. "I'll Be Alright Without You", "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever", "Faithfully", "Send Her My Love", "Still They Ride" I could go on but their all phenomenal. Journey On!

This was the last album Journey made with Steve Perry as lead singer, co-compoer and lyricist. He left the band due to severe burnout (they were constantly touring) and health issues.Steve does solo work now. He has recorded a few albums and did a song for an animated movie soundtrack.

Here's my TRUE story: In 2014, this song reflected the true Love we both had towards each other. We both respected each other because of our similar past, & how far we both came in life because of our education & how hard we had to fight for it, by studying our asses off. We were engaged to be married. I was 42, & she was 37. She died in an auto accident while traveling to Phoenix, AZ, on the freeway, the 101 Loop South. I had enough $$$$ for much needed mental health counseling, or living in Tuscany for 5.5 months. I found myself renting a small Villa, & the owner was a 70 year old lady who lived directly upstairs from me. As we grew to know each other more personally, I learned that her lifelong dream was to be serenated. I actually practiced in a low voice the song I was to serenade with. I learned it in Italian: E Pu Ti Penso. (In U, I think of). Somehow, I gathered a trio. I met each of the four guys by mountain biking all Tuscany & the adjacent towns. On her 71st Birthday, I serenated her, & it turned out to be a virtuoso performance. I paid the Trio handsomely, & I too continued to live out my dreams by singing to women. I use to sing to my Fiancée, on my piano, & I'd get so turned on just to be able to reach her emotional cords, tough @ them with a song while playing my piano. That's the only goddamn thing that came out of Catechism induced classes, is that I learned how to play piano. Now, X48 years. I loved HS Drama Class. I adore the theatre. My Opening & Closing Arguments were always a virtuoso theatrical performances. I would make the jury fall in love with me, or better yet, the character I was playing out. You see, warned U all just how F-'D I truly am. Nonetheless, I came back from Italy equally as F*U*CKEd up as when I left, but speaking beautiful Italian.

My Brother, with the 1st octaves of this song: Hence the piano entry, once your brilliant mind processed it, which is mesmerizing just to be able to listen & appreciate true instrumental music, U took it like body blows in a Prize Fight. U took it like the Champ! Your facial expressions are truly genuine & priceless. U made my day, & thank U for that Sir Doug. Now, try listening to this again, but only when the weEd kicks in, it's even more amazing. U'll thank me later.

Great observation on how girls are being treated. I'll repeat a classic comeback my friend said to someone while she was defending me being a nice guy. She was mentioning that she wanted to set me up with her friend, and there was a guy there that said: "Really? Why? He's a nice guy. Girls don't like nice guys." She said: "You're right. Girls don't like nice guys. But women do." I'll never forget that..... So yeah it's crazy and sad that these girls are allowing themselves to be treated like shit. The silver lining here, though, is don't change and keep being the person you are, you're not going to have to deal with girls because you'll already have a woman. They'll be easy to spot, because they'll be the one standing by your side loving you for everything you are and do.

You should react to Foolish Heart by Steve Perry solo. Another beautiful song. Somewhere along the way, it became uncool to love love. But back then, there were hundreds of thousands (maybe millions)of men who were listening to this band and loving their music!! Also Who's Crying Now from this concert ends with an epic guitar solo.

This song was nominated for a Grammy for BEST POP PERFORMANCE BY A DUO OR GROUP WITH VOCAL 1996, but it didn't win. :-( Somehow, The Beatles won it for "Free As A Bird" even though the Beatles haven't made music since the 70's. I just watched that video here on YT and it is lame compared to Journey's song! WTF???? The Grammy's are rigged, but we already knew that.
