There was a time when "live" really meant something! No auto-tune, no computers, no drum machine... Just real musicians with real instruments, and in this video, a great band called Journey, with Mr. Steve Perry, an exceptional singer known as "The Voice" for a good reason.

Suzanne is perhaps, next to Mother Father, the most difficult song for any singer, even for Perry himself, because it is constantly in the high register and you have to save strength for the chorus as well as for the very end of the song.

The tempo is so fast perry is having trouble getting the texture of the song the way he wants it. You can hear him almost shouting the ending of words at the beginning of the song. And the stabs are fantastic but it really should have been about 10 bpm slower. Love what he did with the song though
