@@Jartopia ah, cause I made one from a slow stream near my house because I got inspired by you, but after about a month it turned black and there was bubbly brown algae on the top :(
@Naglfarlindar3 жыл бұрын
@@jakeyonkers3900 I had something similar happen to my first ecosphere. The creatures didn't seem to mind (though the tubifex and worms died out). I eventually unsealed it and now keep a glass jar upside down over the nozzle as a loose seal. It cleared up over the course of a few weeks, doing fine several months later. Since had the water get somewhat cloudy but green which is dissipating again. I'm thinking the black phase was due to an overload in decaying plant matter. This creates ammonia (I think) which the system can't metabolize in such quantities.

Hi, first of all I adore your videos they are beautiful and I love that you give so much information on the different lifeforms present in each jar. But I wanted to ask how you get them to thrive so well? I tried to make one a week ago and it had some nice variety. I put old wood, stones and a variety of plants in there but a lot of the organism seem to have died. And now there is a layer of watermoss (?) at the top. Will it bounce back after some time to being more clear and thriving again? Or did I make a mistake? Ps: I also put it on a window, is that to much light?
