Trevor (Brendan Fraser), Hannah (Anita Briem) and Sean's (Josh Hutcherson) attempt to use a mine cart turns into quite the wild ride.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Academy Award-winning visual effects artist Eric Brevig makes his feature directorial debut with this adaptation of the classic Jules Verne fantasy starring Brendan Fraser. When an ambitious science professor (Fraser) develops a decidedly unconventional hypothesis, the mere mention of his name is enough to elicit laughter within the academic community. However, during a subsequent excursion to Iceland, the professor and his nephew make a major scientific discovery that sends them miles beneath the surface of the Earth, where they discover not only strange new worlds, but also encounter creatures so alien they appear to be from another world entirely.

The Donkey Kong Movie scene: The Monkey Mines The DK Crew enters the ruins of the Monkey Mines, Diddy knows the short cut: riding the mine carts through the mines. While on the mine carts, the DK Crew dodges Krashes (Kritters on mine carts bent on crashing), going into different tracks, and jumping over gaps. The DK Crew finds themselves in some temple ruins, after the mine carts crashed.

Looking at this movie as an adult and not as a kid anymore, I just realized that it's possible that at 2:27, Trevor and Hannah probably should've died due to the force of impact. They should've been snapped. I actually showed this movie to my chemistry teacher in high school and he agreed.

I love it when people can overthink science in films, cause God knows I need it too. But I've been watching MatPat's videos, and I think that the result varies. If we take into the mass (Trevor and Hannah's body weights), time (how long it takes Hannah to jump off the cart), acceleration (the speed at which the cart is racing plus the speed at which they escape through the hook shot), and the amount of force applied, we can determine whether or not they would've died. Best case scenario, they just shatter their bones or break their necks. But that's just a theory for another day.
