Absolutely beautiful country. The gardens are meticulous. And the cities are modern and prosperous.

I've watched this twice so far. It's become one of my favorites of your videos, partly because I was stationed near there when in the Army in 1970 and partly because you've done an excellent job touring this area. Of course, the Lady Buddha had not yet been built when I was there, but it was great to see what has changed. On your trip out to the Lady Buddha, the road, once you turned right onto the peninsula, was what the road the full length of the area from Monkey Mountain, around Marble Mountain, and on to Hoi An was like - just a two-lane country road, not the multi-lane highway it is now. The monkeys were notorious thieves. If you offered them something, they wouldn't take it; but turn your back for just a second, and they'd steal it! Many thanks for another excellent video!

What a beautiful place! I was in awe of those bonsai trees - do you know how old some of them are? Lady Budda Da Nang was beautifully stunning! Thank you AK for taking us there! 👍❣ (not to leave out those cheeky monkeys! Seen them grab sunglasses & cell phones for ransom payment of a banana or bag of chips!)

Hi AK, great video as always. After watching I wanted to correct about the tallest status, because I remember there's a humongous bronze statue on a mountain at Tay Ninh province, but to my surprise I looked up and I found loads of tall buddha statues in Vietnam: Chùa Linh Ứng Đà Nẵng) 67m Completed Chùa Linh Ẩn - Lâm Đồng 71m Chùa Khai Nguyên (chùa Tản Viên) - Hà Nội 72m Chùa Bà Đen -Tây Ninh 72m Partially Completed Chùa Long Phước - Long An 70m Chùa Phật Quốc Vạn Thành - Bình Phước 73m Mountain Carved Phật núi Phước Lý - Đà Nẵng 65m Phật Thích Ca tạc núi đá - An Giang 81m Chùa Minh Đức núi Thiên Mã - Quảng Ngãi 125m Longest Chùa Som Rong TP.Sóc Trăng 63m Grandest Chùa Bái Đính - Ninh Binh 80 ha built (total landscape 1700 ha) Chùa Tam Chúc - Hà Nam 144 ha built (total landscape 5.100 ha) Chùa Ba Vàng - Quảng Ninh 1,1641 ha built (total landscape 21,818 ha) Chùa Hương - Hà Nội 2.759 ha built (total landscape 4.960ha)

I just remember they renovated the ancient fortress on Hai Van 海 云 pass last year, this was built during the Nguyen Dynasty, and the French later used as a military fortified shelter, then the American turned it into a bunker. The Nguyen emperor called this "Thiên Hạ đệ Nhất Hùng Quan" 天下第一雄關(关) (Number one's outstanding gate) but more like Quan 觀 in today's world, the best viewing point. Hai Van pass usually covered in clouds considered to be the most scenic drive by tourists and locals. Son Tra is literally mean Tea Mountain, monkeys just live there, no name for the monkeys.

So picturesque….when I was in college, the mid 60s, many young men being drafted for Vietnam War.
@brucedahms45084 ай бұрын
I was in college in the mid-60s and received my draft notice the same day as I received my degree. I was fortunate in that I ended up in the Military Police, stationed in Da Nang at a company compound located right on the beach where AK has been walking. Each morning as I headed out to the mess hall for breakfast, there was Monkey Mountain off in the distance.

It's called experiencing life in Asia. How can spending a few months in Asia equate to "all your life"? How is it a waste if one learns from Asian different cultures?
@anhbinbaccuc88504 ай бұрын
I assume he will spend the rest of this year exploring South East Asia, then return home at the end of this year. Next year 100plus cities in China, then return home then 2026 will be India, and all the Middle Eastern countries. Finally he will resign in either Singapore or Malaysia .
