I don't understand the hate this guy gets. No, he's not Steve, there won't be anyone like him again, but Arnell is one hell of a talent and it makes me happy to see he found his calling. Not only that, but he gets to play with the same guys that he idolized. Do you guys not understand how amazing that has to be? His accent comes through pretty strong sometimes, but his voice, his energy, his passion, and the genuine happiness he gets from singing is what music is all about. If the few of you who are hating on Arnell can't see that, you're listening to music for the wrong reasons.

@@billdavis6900 I know that, but since the movie is fictional, it can be based on anyone who started out as a fan of a certain band who eventually made it in joining their favourite band.
@billdavis69009 ай бұрын
@@KenMikaze I know it’s a fictional movie but it was based loosely on the Tim Owens story. That kind of thing happens with Hollywood quite a bit. It has to do with the legal issues of buying the rights to the story and whether or not the producers wanted to make a biographical film or not. The same thing was true about the NASCAR movie Days of Thunder. Tom Cruise’s character was based on the driver Tim Richmond, but since the rights to Tim Richmond’s story were owned by Hal Needham, they created a fictional movie around the character that was based on a real person, and changed the name of the character. All I’m saying is that Arnel is not the first tribute singer that got to sing for the real band.
@KenMikaze9 ай бұрын
@@billdavis6900 we don't consider loosely-based characters as canon, hence, anyone can own the story.. There's a reason why the show, Shogun wouldn't be called historical for the Japanese, because the characters were loosely based on historical people. Easily among the hardest vocal catalogs to perform live, on tour, for years. Little wonder it burns through lead singers - starting with Steve himself. It's the culture seriously they never age. Instead of all these Hollywood chicks spending insane amounts of paper in hopes of a longer youthful appearance when all that's needed is to change your food intake to there's. Example, Vera Wang is in her mid-70's try wrapping your brain around that one!! I betcha if 1 person already having a successful social platform did this it would change the game in that genre with many beauty creams unable to pay there mortgage😄🤔😄f.f.t.

When I was stationed in Thailand (1969 - 1973) many of the bands that played in the various clubs came from the Philippines. No mater what group they were covering, you could close your eyes and not know if it was the real band or not. What was interesting is that their English (not chastizing) was not that great, but the words they sang were impeccable. Really enjoyed the Philippine bands expecially when they did not try and improvize and just sang the orginal songs. So it is not surprising this guy was a perfect replacement for Mr. Perry. Great Job! I play the versions side by side and it is fun...
