I played this game when it first came out, so it's been years, but I remember it having a great sense of progression, specifically economically, lol. I wish I could answer some of the questions you have, but being out of the loop so long, I'm re-experiencing through your playthrough. Great video!

Not all machines you override can be a mount. Some will attack other machines for you. Sorry I know you finished the game, but I hope I’m helping. If you do side quests or errands (two different things) sometimes you get stuff as a thank you.

I wish they would make a prequel game with Rost. The story could explain how or why he became an outcast since it was long before he raised Aloy and Rost never told us what happened. Maybe the story could lead up to him being given Aloy when she was found outside the door as a baby.
