Zara, 7, has entered Islamia Primary school in Nottingham from a state primary. Aysha, 12, has entered Islamia Secondary, a girls only school, as the only white student. Muslim School follows these two young girls, over a year, as they begin at an Islamic school. The girls will be taught the standard national curriculum, supplemented by Islamic Studies, Urdu, Arabic, and readings of Islamic Scripture. But how will they find the transition from their previous multi-faith schools?

To teach a small child about heaven and hell increases their anxiety and can be traumatising. These kids weren't even sure that they will make it to heaven which can be overwhelmingly frightening for a child.

@@MdInamullahKhan yeah no, I was taught from a young age about heaven and hell, and things to do and things not to do, I grew up very anxious, I was sexually assaulted and I couldn't tell my parents because I thought I'll be going to hell. I am a non believer now and so is my sister. She's right about higher anxiety level.

@@tanzeela1308 I was taught about heaven and hell from young age...I grew normally....what has sexual assault got to do with giving heaven and hell knowledge....it might be the case that your assault is the traumatizing things which affected you and your are mixing up both....

There are so many things wrong in this school! Why are Muslim children isolated? They should be going to normal schools, so that they can integrate to the British society better! They can then go to Muslim Sunday schools if they want to practice their religion and learn more about it! This feels horrible and isolating! When you leave your country and go somewhere else, you must integrate to the culture and rules of the place and not the other way around! I have nothing against Muslim people and Islam, but school is for education and not for religion! It sends a message that if you are not Muslim, you are not good enough for our children to go to the same school and be friends with your children! Such a shame!

A islamic school is just a normal school which combines religion and education, or give importance to religion. it doesnt mean theyre not intigraded. And there are also many christian schools. And everything is fine. So does being integrated mean to follow the religion and way of thinking of the people? Then where is the freedom of religion? Islam is not for sundays only :-)

Infact it is good we have diffrent islamic schools as compared to normal schools which gets mix gathering girls and boys together they do parties which is totally haram in islam... South Asian community as we usual making Islam about colour. I went through this myself simply because I had lighter skin and green eyes. Bullied endlessly alongside my siblings. You’ll never see Arabs doing this to children or adults of black or white colouring but you’ll certainly see this with the south Asians. If they call you a gori don’t be surprised. 😊
