Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park | The First Lincoln Memorial

Abraham Lincoln was born in 1819 in Kentucky. This historical park features the first Lincoln Memorial at his birthplace, well before the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC was built.
This video gives an overview of Lincoln's birthplace, where he spent the first 7 years of his life before moving on to Indiana.
It features a large memorial with a replica of the log cabin inside, and a newly restored tavern acting as a visitor center at Knob Creek.

I have loved this park ever since I visited as a young boy. A true American history fan should strive to visit all the Lincoln sites around the country.

Yes - We visited the Lincoln library in Springfield earlier and that was impressive. He is probably the most consequential president in US history. Much to be learned from him.

This is the closest park to my home, about 14 miles away. My daughter went to the elementary school next to the park and also did a short term as a kid volunteering here as part of her Beta Club tasks. It's a small park but a gorgeous one. Great job highlighting it!
