Also so we're to assume that all the vampires there don t want listener hunter as a thrall, pet or even to turn them to become the very thing they hunt? I feel like not every single vampire at that black market would just want to kill them and be done with it...

Totally; a vampire hunter would be SO valuable to vampires as a companion or thrall, it would be crazy to waste that opportunity by merely killing the hunter. Mayhaps that's the direction the story will go in?
