I served in the U.S. military alongside some amazing Haitian men and women. Many of whom enlisted in order to gain their U.S. citizenship. Imagine that, voluntarily signing your life over to defend a country that is mostly unfamiliar to you, in hopes for a better life in this unfamiliar country someday. It was a problem because oil prices were high due to the pandemic recovery/Russian sanctions/supply chain disruptions, but now both are under control because of the Federal Reserve's patient and prudent interest rate adjustments.
