Zadig & Voltaire This is Him Fragrance Review (2016)

I bought this last year after I got a sample of it. I like it very much and think it isn't actually that dark. Definitely an autumn/winter fragrance or cooler weather. The longevity is beast. Class frag!

I personally used to love all the sweet and fresh generic fragrances, but discovering This is Him! by Zadig & Voltaire has been a humbling experience. Over time, I realized I didn't want to smell like everyone else - I wanted something unique. Trying This is Him! was like a gateway to a new world, teaching me to appreciate distinct scents. People who dislike this fragrance might come to appreciate it eventually as their tastes evolve.

A very good cool weather fragrance. Incense, some spices, creamy but dry woods and Vanilla for some sweetness. Gent Scents does a good job reviewing this one too.

I totally agree with the Tom Ford Noir/Noir Anthracite comparison! I feel like This Is Him can be described as TF Noir's little brother A little more youthful, a little less dark, but still the same gothic, dangerous, dark, mysterious, "graveyard" atmosphere kind of smell. Love this one when I don't feel confident enough to wear Noir, especially as a 23 year old guy

I just got this fragrance a week ago as a blind buy based on positive fragrantica reviews. Here's the issue with this fragrance, it smells kinda burnt, almost ashy and dark uppon applying. Not something you would rock tbh. It takes 2hours+ until it goes to it's milky vanilla ice cream stage which smells delicious! 2h+ for it to shine is kinda disappointing tbh, a fragrance you'd wear with alot of tought behind it, not something you just throw on on a whim. I am really not sure how i feel about it.

I find this less "Rock & Roll" and more pleasant. I get a "freshly cut sawdust" with a touch of vanilla and incense scent. I use it on a test strip and let it fill the room with a pleasant aroma. It's a very manly smell. But I can't say Sandalwood is ever going to feel Rock & Roll.

Med Alqawasmeh sad to hear this. I love this scent. Absolutely love it, doesn’t smell like a church to me at all, an old building with a gothic, dark feel, sure. Maybe I haven’t stepped foot in the right churches lol
