Thank you for this review. I am watching you from Clermont in France. I am so happy that you did this review. I owned "This is Him" and absolutely love it. I was surpised that this fragrance didn't get a lot of talk. And right now, I own the flanker of this fragrance called "Just rock". I think you will definitely like it particulary for winter. I think it's better than "This is him". I will recommand you to get a try ! Thank you again !

I am really mad I didn't pull the trigger on this one when I first heard about it. Prices have gone up lately and sold out on most sites. The edge of the bottle is that way to lock/match up with the female version "This is Her" so when they are on the dresser they make one rectangle which I thought was pretty cool.

A very cool concept indeed! Yes the price did go up but don't feel bad, you're not alone...I paid 76.xx for mine too - but worth it, in my book.

Im so enjoyng this fragrance.. its dark and mysterious.. loved this grapefruit.. its got distinctive personality thats for sure. its abit serious tone.. underrated scent..its a classic for me..its different from all my bottles..very masculine!😊😊

This is great stuff.Even though it is a darker scent, I have received numerous compliments on it.And, depending how much you spray,it can be a year round fragrance.

Thanks for that input, I quite agree. I don't *really* like to genrify/label fragrances specifically for occassions and seasons because...well, wear them when you WANT...but this one is particularly versatile, I believe.

Try out also Just Rock!, I got both of these at the same time and ended up using that one more. I think it is a bit rounded up version, making it just a tad more wearable. Love them both, though. Btw Just Rock bottle is etched as a mirror of This is Him, so you can match them up side by side from the ’cracked’ side 😄

This is one that the cap fits so tight that when you take it off it pulls the collar up. Nevertheless a great release and one I'm happy to own. I only wear it in the winter, so haven't worn this for some time.. looking forward to wearing it again soon.

Interesting comparison with the quarry, not sure how that might smell exactly (even though I've been to underground gold mines full of quarz, but not exactly the same.) Have smelled This is Him and I really don't get any stone-like vibe. One fragrance that to me does have a wet stone component is Terre de Hermes Parfum, but not surprisingly, it does have a flintstone note listed actually.

Raul - I could have done a better job explaining...I got a kind of rocky, dusty vibe like limestone dust kicked up from a moving vehicle (on a gravel drive, per se)...and a slate-like feeling/vibe from This Is Him!'s cooling effect...but it's not really enough to be a PRIMARY element...just an adjunct of it's primary appeal.

I had it in the late 90s. The juice is light green. I think it has been discontinued quite a while ago.

The uneven side is so it can be connected to the female version.. they mesh together

The bottle design is supposed to be a broken rock divided between the male and the female version. If you have both they be can united like two pieces of a puzzle.

Hani you are absolutely correct, and for that I offer my humble apologies - I realized this in post but had no way of *splicing* in an explanatory scene; to put it simply...THIS IS HIM! is best utilized in early spring or FALL weather - slightly cooler weather. I have worn it this summer in the cooler evenings to great effect. Enjoy!

I mean....ehhhhh...in so far as vanilla smells like VANILLA no matter what it is that it's on/in. But they probably mean that it's milky-creamy (sandalwood) and vanillic....so yes. And there is that "cool-slate" vibe to it as well, that mimics coolness very well...so in this way, yes. But side by side...there likely would be little to recommend the comparison.

I bought this last year and was extremely disappointed. Poor longevity (or could be anosmia due to iso-e-super used) and a mere hint of vanilla ... It's also very dry so projection is minimal (see other reviews). If you like darker balsamic frags, you're better off with Bentley For Men Absolute. It beats this hands down in every category including price .... and still not a lady pleaser :))

I paid approx 76.xx for mine - through FragranceX, whom I've listed in the description - that's typical of most discounters. I would be skeptical of a cheaper price, unless it was just like a five dollar difference or something.
