In this year's Summer, Robert Morris had scheduled a lineup of his fellow megachurch speakers to preach in this year's summer series titled 'Let's dive in.' The list included Lisa Harper, the first speaker to preach on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of June 2024, while Albert Tate, Joakim Lundqvist, Tim Barton, Ben Carson, Tony Evans, Joyce Meyer, one speaker was yet to be confirmed, and then Chris Hodges would conclude the series on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of August. However, due to the scandal that has rocked Gateway church after Cindy Clemeshire exposed senior pastor Robert Morris for molesting her when she was just 12 years old in the 80s, Only Lisa Harper and Joakim Lundqvist have preached. Other speakers like Tony Evans who had earlier stepped down as the senior pastor in his church is expected to skip the invite while Ben Carson and Joyce Meyer have pulled out.

Yes, there are extremely evil people with enormous wealth. They are everywhere. But there are some very BAD poor people, too.,U can have money and still be a godly person. I don't think Jesus said it was IMPOSSIBLE for a rich person to enter heaven.. I think his point was it can be a hard and thorny path.But he issued a WARNING, not a prohibition( to me, that's what was going on ). The rich man Jesus talked to... was invited to "follow Jesus' wasn't he/? We may never know, but maybe he would have replaced Judas as one of the 12 if he had? The rich man was yearning for something money didn't give him,,, and Jesus was offering it to him.. But that does not mean that the rule is for every single person who has money to automatically give every cent away.......( and I am a person of modest means)..... U can have money,,,, as long as money does not have you!

Believe it or not, there still may be areas in Joyce’s life where she still may need healing from the effects of CSA. Healing is not always instantaneous. Preaching from the pulpit of someone who was a predator of a child could be a huge trigger for her so let’s have some grace, people of God…

It was by the grace of God that I wasn’t swallowed up in that culture but I was being SA by a relative at home so I knew what that looked like. I did not trust adults and rebelled often. I did have some run-ins w/a student (who had been raped) and a teacher who I suspected even as a child there was something not right w/her. I praise God that by the Grace of God we were both able to get out.

@@donnaharris5754 I would recommend reading and studying Leviticus 10 which tells about the 2 sons of Aaron that were killed because they handled what God had said with disrespect, personal desires and manipulation. It is time for the evangelical church to take a stand and to recover proper focus on the person and the work of the Holy Spirit. We cannot be reminded too often that the Holy Spirit’s primary role is to exalt Christ, especially to elicit praise for Christ from His people. This type of teaching by prosperity preachers elicits emotion and does not promote the listener to “be a Berean” and search the scriptures daily for themselves to see whether or not the things preached are truly the Word of God in the Bible. Please read all of Acts 17, especially see verse 10 & 11. There is a personal agenda being promoted here (usually it is prosperity and personal gratification) that is not endorsed by Scripture. In John 16:8, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit: “When [the Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment”. In this verse, we see a three-fold ministry the Spirit will perform in relation to the unsaved world. He will “convict” the world; that is, He will reprove it or show it to be wrong. This reproof will target three areas in which the world needs admonishing: sin, righteousness, and judgment. I dare say that the teaching of many of these preachers do not admonish us about sin, righteousness and judgment. Sorry that these 3 things are not as emotionally satisfying as what Joyce Meyer teaches, but the influence of the Holy Spirit in an unsaved person’s life will lead that person to the realization that he is guilty, that God is just, and that all sinners are deserving of judgment. Once a sinner has been awakened to his soul’s great need, the Spirit will point him to Christ, the one and only Savior and Refuge from judgment (John 16:14). In all of this, the Spirit uses His “sword,” the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17), and the result is a regenerated heart. “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).

Think about it: A Joyce Meyer, or others, preaching at Gateway does not have to be an endorsement of Robert Morris. That congregation is a group of people who are wounded, confused, angry, and disappointed, and need solid Biblical teaching and counsel on how to grow through this and how to respond in a Godly way. Why are these preachers distancing themselves from Gateway? WHAT ELSE BUT THE FEAR OF LOSS OF THEIR PRECIOUS CREDIBILITY!!! It would be an act of true humility and maturity for a Joyce Meyer to go and minister to these souls. The people didn't commit the crime, Morris did! She and others have preached to a lot of wounded people for a long time. Who better than to preach to than the Gateway congregation? THEY NEED HELP.

I suggest wisely eliminating all judgmentalism against Joyce Meyer or others for withdrawing their current speaking engagements at Gateway Church. Judgment requires full knowledge of any related issues in order to be qualified to make an informed sound judgment. Since there still seem to be concerning issues and unanswered questions, not only with Robert Morris, but also with past and current church elders’ and leaders’ relevant knowledge, it seems to me that this church government would do well to place laser focus on 100% transparency, detailed truth and full accountability in order to be healed, delivered, forgiven and redeemed from this grievous sin and crime, along with its aftermath. For example, as a part of the church governing body, doesn’t each church elder have a responsibility to God and Gateway church members to be fully informed of any concerning issue, so that they can make intelligent, responsible and wise church government decisions? If so, why didn’t each church elder inquire/investigate for the full details of the Morris-reported “inappropriate relationship with a young lady?” If they had, they would have learned immediately of Cindy Clemishire’s full report of 4 1/2 years of child sexual abuse by Morris. It’s safe to say, Robert Morris would likely not have been approved to become the church’s senior pastor. As always, God has a loving plan of redemption and personal restoration for all involved if they will do things His way. Only God’s way works.

I notice everybody is an ‘expert’ on Joyce and what she stands for. For the record, I happen to like her teachings, and have learned a great deal from her. Is everything she says perfectly sound doctrine? No. There is no one whose teachings are 100% accurate. She herself is an abuse survivor. No. Now let me explain. Properity is biblical. It should be preached. But like other parts of the gospel, it can be misunderstood and misapplied. Have you ever heard of "greasy grace"? It's a wishy-washy belief that lets people slip and slide in their sins. Now, do we stop preaching Grace? NO! Prosperity preaching may have taken a bad turn and gotten into the ditch...... Some may have abused it wantonly out of greed. But that does not do away with the fact God does care... for his people in material needs and above the poverty line.If u apply God's standards with money, u will be blessed. I have experienced it. It has become almost a joke in our family that a new easter egg will be waiting for me when I go to a thrift store. I will say," I would like this," and then go to the thrift store or yard sale, and THERE IT IS!!!!!God is gracious, generous, kind, and good and will bless his children. We call it the prosperity message, I believe it, and no one can talk me out of it. It's real and true. God does PROSPER his Children. Of course that does not mean a convertible,, 4 bedroom house and a inground swimming pool for everyone. It dseo not necessarily mean big green backs in the bank vault with a golden key only you have....... That may be where people became confused, thinking prosperity meant extreme wealth., It can... of course... but not for everyone.... But even in small measures, God can bless someone's socks off... I'll give one example out of many... I went into Walmart one day and saw a beautiful blue comforter. It had grey on the back, and I was unwilling to buy it at a new price (I may not have even had the money that day). I thought the blue was pretty..... I walked into the thrift shop shortly after, and THERE was a BLUE COMFORTER, ALMOST THE SAME SHADE MINUS THE GREY BACKING!!!! It's on my bed now. Christian speakers canceled engagements with the church and they should have until they know what directions the church is taking. The thing is nobody wants to be associated with a child molester and be branded. How is the church handling this issue? Until there is clear statement and plan of how the church is going to move forward and a clear statement concerning the victim, I would stay away too. I came out of a church riddled with abuse and they tried to cover it up and act like nothing happened. The victims did not get the justice or help they needed, thus, I would not rush to be associated until it is known how the church will handle this within the church and the victim.

Joyce is right & IN MY OPINION, anyone still attending Gateway is endorsing & practicing idol worship. So, Gateway has done a lot of good? That was is, not God? God can't continue those good works if Gateway doesnt exist? Heres the problem too many are ignoring: The current elders & Board of Directors os doing the EXACT same thing for the 3 elders who are "Taking A Leave Of Absence" that others did decades ago for Robert Morris. And y'all are CLAPPING! Cant you see, the high ups of Gateway, you know, all those people you'll never meet, they are more worried about closing ranks & protecting each other from any consequences than they are in doung what the Bible says: being beyond reproach. It's not impossible or the Bible wouldn't have called for it. Anyone who knew the age of the victim MUST be PERMANENTLY removed, according to the Bible. But Gateway's gods aren't folliwing the Bible. They're following a team of lawyers who specialize in damage control within corporations. Yep, Gateway lawyered up. Trying to save a church that should be nothing more than a group of believets coming together in worship. But to THEM, the Gateway gods, the churchbis the seat of their power, of their lofty standing in their communities. Just like the politicians who refuse to leave office after 40 years of "service", their power & prestige are their entire identity. You know you can go join another church & it won't hurt God one bit, right? So why do you stay & clap for these club members who are too good to attend your Home Group? Too good to join in the prayer warriors in the altar call? Too busy to meet with you when you need to be ministeted to? Speaking of which, who does Pastor Robert actually pastor? That man was a PREACHER & a teacher. He only pastors (we asume, if he pastors anyone) the rich, famous, politicians, & the ultra wealthy. Even his email address they tell you wrnt not to Zrm, but to his secretary. He had a real email but you sure weren't getting it.

The weird thing is, don't even listen to her. Why? Women preachers, for some reason, irritate me. JM's voice is not my "cup of tea."... I prefer softer.. more gentle female Christian influencers. But when I heard her, she seemed solid. My gut tells me what's is going on with her, even IF she has been wrong on some issues, is a form of persecution. People need to leave Joyce alone. Don't like her? DONT LISTEN! But refrain from the foot-stomping over others who do like her and have learned from her.

NO, it says something not so good about Joyce Meyer. Morris has "fallen low," not the congregation. SHE WON'T EVEN MINISTER TO THE CONGREGATION HE WOUNDED?? IF she wants "nothing to do" with Morris OR the congregation, maybe she isn't as healed from her own abuse as she would have you believe. Maybe she has forgotten how the huge crowd cheered for her AND her father, knowing everything he had done to her, the day she baptized him before he died, before a live audience of thousands and a TV audience of many more. Maybe it just made her look oh so good?? Maybe JM HASN'T completely healed from her father's abuse, and this debacle reminds her of her own abuse? How would she have felt if people had distanced themselves from her for baptizing he father on national TV? Evidently, she is NOT one of those described in Ephesians 6 who could help gently restore such an one if she won't even go and minister to the ones Morris hurt! They need "restoring", too.

I understand the anger and disgust naturally of Joyce Myer towards her dad. It was mentioned one time on pulpit to clear the air. But you keep mentioning this over and over , and you say you forgive your father. Yes he did horrible things to you, but do not publicly shame him over and over. You can say you were SA if you want to appeal to those demographics. I had an axe to grind with my dad ,no SA, but the way he treated my mother, the abuse of all kinds, I wanted to bring them up ,I tried ,but couldnt. He's very old now and in my care,and still gets me angry, but I must honour him,by not bringing up his shame. I went to God with my feelings, instead. After the flood the Bible records,Noah's son caught him naked and they held cloth and walked backwards to cover him, not to gaze on his shame. One son mocked,that son ,turned out evil. Do not bring up your parents shame and confront them especially in their old age. Pray for them ,forgive them, respect them ,and turn your hurt, anger, hatred , confusion about them and what they did over to Almighty God. Maybe would be best if you cant physically have them around you but make sure they are comfortable. God will bless you in a great way.

Christians are full of hatred for Mega churches. Who said little churches are of God or are holy? Jesus Christ did not preach to 5 or 10 holier than thou people, masses of people during His time here on earth. Small churches are not the criteria for holiness. Leave the preachers alone!! Americans. Not every day, where prosperity is preached. There is a spirit of jealousy in the Christian world. Instead of praying for mercy for Pastor Robert Morris, you are busy condemning him. Jesus said with the same judgement you judge others, you will be judged, Matt 7:2. There is no love in Chrisitan world. They are the first ones to throw stones. The world is watching. Christians know better than God as to who must preach and who must not. Therefore, in Christ, there is now no condemnation, for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Pray, for Joyce Meyer, don't condemn her.
