When someone creates an offense against me, I make a choice about that person to decide how much value and trust I want to invest in them. If I value the relationship, I confront and share how I'm feeling about the offense. If they dismiss my feelings and they are not someone who I need in my life, then they are not someone with whom I will persevere with. If it's family or love ones, not only will I confront with my feelings about an offense, but I will also confront about being dismissed, until they understand the principle of showing value to another person through validation. Keeping the peace at the expense of one's own emotional welbeing by overlooking the offense, can be more damaging, than if we are to be transparent about our own feelings about what has been said or done.

@Jesse Jules...I so agree with you!! There's a huge difference between being a peacekeeper and a peacemaker. Your comment here is about peacemaking, which often requires that we do the hard work of confronting--in love, of course.

I am 31 and I really relate to Joyce. My nails toes and fingers have to match and my PJMAS too. I like communication and feel offended when people do not do it. It used to upset me so much to an extent of pain but now, I have learned to be around other people like me, who love to communicate. If I encounter one who does not communicate, they do not bother me that much anymore.

Joyce and ladies thank you for this really needed discussion!!! People are very angry today and have a lot going on in their lives anyway!! Social media has a lot of negetive connotations to add aa well!! It can be a blessing for ministry and it can be very negetive as well. We need to walk in love and show those hurting people who Jesus is. I love being in an environment where God is. Again thank you for addressing this important content and may God bless you and your families!!!!

Sometimes as women we struggle to ask for what we need. We expect others to know and that’s unfair. Ex: when you send an email, if you expect a response, close the message by saying “Please reply to confirm you received this message. Thank you” If we clearly let folks know, most of the time they appreciate that clarity. This did not come naturally to me. I’ve worked to learn this and it has been so helpful.

I want to thank you for this talk , amazing I love you ladies, let you know it helped me a lot when today I found out my oldest son had a big wedding and all the family was invited except me , it hit me very hard at the begging when I heard it on the street about the wedding from one of his friends , but I am so grateful being a believer it makes so easy when we can take everything to God , i prayed and I thank and praise God , He is in control, and I thought with myself He do everything for my good if He wanted me to be there I am sure he would made it happen but I trust Him , He loves me , even I don’t see it but He knows everything, for I am new born Christen 5 years ago But my family are all of them unbelievers, I pray for all unbelievers to know Jesus , life is very hard without Jesus . God bless you all I love Joyce ❤️❤️

Yup. That's so true. I used to love a landline. Parents should block incoming calls on kids phone except for their own numbers, so all the little friends will be forced to call the landline to speak to the kids. Because facing that kids Parents would show respect. Your not going to disrespect a kid who's parent you just spoke to. And it also shows that the kids have someone that protects them.

♥😃 I found this talk so wonderful! It is very interesting to hear what people get offended by. I used to be one of those people who gave unsolicited advice (still working on zipping my lip 🤪...). If I heard someone say that they are going through something that I have also been through, & had success with, I would tell them what works for it. My heart was to help, & I had absolutely NO idea that I was offending anyone, or hurting their pride! Thank God for the internet & open discussions, as I have learned so much about how other people think!

Thank you, Ladies!! I SO needed to hear your inspiring and 'teachable-moment' message this morning. I now remembered what you were talking about, "Thinking the best of others AND be slow to anger." Well, I forgot most of this this afternoon when I was holding a meeting and someone was complaining about our pay scale and railing on me about it. I got a bit offended and spoke sharply to this person and said that "I am just presenting the information." THEN right after the meeting, another person was also complaining about a "SANDPAPER" colleague that was not present . I said, "I understand. However, I just can't bring myself to make a comment, but I do understand your concern." I am glad I held my tongue and not gossiped or complained about this person, but I wish I had a better way of speaking to people. I hate conflict and try to not be argumentative or a complainer. I love people and wish I didn't get so sharp-tongued like I do at times when I get offended. Thank you again for this wonderful message! I'm going to bookmark it and watch it again, as often as needed. 😊 Now, I am going outside to cut the grass, to talk to God and pray! Much love, peace and blessings to you all and to your audience. 😄💖🙏🌹

If we choose to believe the best about someone or a situation.. then we can move forward and not be stuck..if someone is trying to purposely offend us, we derail that purpose by not responding, which the Lord will use to turn around on them if they had bad intentions. Their arrows have missed their mark.

Poor communication makes me feel unwanted ,unappreciated or not included which leads to bad thoughts did I hurt them and hurting my feelings.. The old offense comes because from our own insecurities we feel about aging. I just turned 60 and I haye the getting old thing. I feel like everytime someone offers to ho me its because they think I'm old and can't do it. But when I was younger and someone offered help I would take it and just feel like they offereed because they thought I was cute and just wanted to help.
