My daughter went to Guatemala on a mission trip her freshman year of college. She said that kids in Guatemala were so unlike kids here in the US. She said they didn't hear one temper tantrum. She said that they were happy to just find a stick and play with it. It definitely changed her view of how blessed we are in this country. It also made me thankful for running, clean warm water.

That is very true but I also ask my self if we are the blessed ones or if they are? Because I don’t remember being mad for not having something when I was little or not being grateful for any little thing I got. I had very little but I didn’t know that until I got older and came here.I think that not having a lot it’s also a blessing because you don’t have to learn to be grateful, you just are grateful for everything.

It's kind of difficult for me to understand why a thankful attitude should come from comparing one's seemingly better situation with another that appears less privileged. We all are God's children and God meets us differently. Life is deep. We should be thankful to God for His mercies without comparing ourselves with others. No one knows who's better than the other. By the way, I love Joyce and her team.

This music brings tears to my eyes. God is wonderful, I can’t thank him enough. People who know me and my husband in our area. They know what we have been through and how long it took us to be successful and where we are at the moment. If you are familiar withe scriptures, I mean the word of God you can tell that Jesus always talked about destiny helpers and I met mine 6 years ago.. I met Mr Andrew in a church seminar 6 years ago. He is a young man with a good heart. God used him to change my life and the lives of people around us. It was a huge step we took and we do not regret it. I always talk about him everywhere pardon me. If you are out there and loosing hope I want you to know that God has plans for everyone of us. i feel my story should encourage a lot of people. Yes, every time I pass a homeless person or a mother with children at the bus stop and like Joyce said “a warm bed “. Choice foods in refrigerator. Washing machine. The little things are big things to those without. Been watching Joyce for 25 years and she has been a great encouragement.🙏

This is a comment to what Jai was addressing around the 5 minute mark. In a marriage where there has been infidelity, often times it has nothing to do with the spouse who was cheated on. It's good to be accountable and recognize our part in the dissolve of the marriage (it's actually vital!) , but honestly ....most times the desire to cheat comes to fruition because it was in that persons heart, plain and simple. Some ppl want to gratify their flesh rather than die to it. I pray 🙏 that Jai AND all God's people who were hurt in a marriage will be Blessed 🙌 with a recompense far better that what they lost.

I once read a post from Humans of New York where he interviewed a homeless woman who just wished she could wake up in a warm house read the paper & make herself a pot of coffee. It struck me so much, the little things we take for granted, others pray or wish for it every day 😟

I am not sorry for my brain surgeries that I endured. I am not sorry for having to relearn how to talk. I am not sorry for this current cognitive deficit of having difficulty with my brains auditory system. Each of these trials have given me experience with huge aspects of my daughter's struggle with autism. I can now give her advice, understand her, and be patient with her. I know that who I was before these brain struggles would not have been the mom that she needed. God provides he makes a way. During the worst of my struggle, I remember telling God, "I know that I am going through this to help someone I will encounter in my future. And I guarantee you that I don't care enough for this hard time to be worth it." Boy, was I wrong. Thank you, God, for your patience with me!

That is a good point, Joy e is right with compassion & pity. I have total compassion for the girl that was cheated on and now divorced. I can truly feel compassion for her. I know that soul crushing pain. I wasn’t married but in a long relationship that I wanted to marry him. I felt it broke me for a bit, but in reality it’s how I developed a real relationship w/ Jesus. The pain I turned to God. So, it’s true hard things being such gifts
