Lovely! Thank you! I enjoyed this reminder to add into my routine the things that are life-giving. All of the ‘to-dos’ often crowd out the things of beauty.

We live in an apartment on a compound so I have to go with my younger children (2 under 10) to the playgrounds. I have a basket with my picnic blanket and I spread out and that is when I do my reading and verbal questions with my 13 year old. When we are done she goes and plays and I have a good hour of doing some schedule updating and then I read! We’re there from about 3-6. I have not yet mastered getting dinner ready for when I get home - I need to do better. But I do realize that if I had a home with its own yard I would happily be sending them outside and I’d be puttering getting done and endless list of things to do and never see the light of day :) so I’m happy for this season. I saw Autumn’s video and I’m going to check it out now, too! Thank you for the video!

@joycherrick I’m a new homeschool mom with one 8 year old and one 4 year old. Do you have a book or article that will help get me figure out “how” to teach both at the same time? I’m struggling with getting outside with them too….

Thank you. So do you consider outside play time part of the school day?

The 4 year old by masons method can just play, you don't need to worry about teaching her an education until she's 6 :) just focus on cultivating her home chores and love for nature. Going outside is part of schooling as you can make it nature study, Journaling, nature science, narraration over your nature reading, all this can be done in 30-40 min a day! The rest of the subjects are about 20-30 minutes long for an 8 year old so schooling should only take about 2.5 hrs a day :)
