Thirty seconds into the video, you already taught me the wire trick to assemble minis. Thank you :)

Your welcome! It's a cheap wire you can get from a hobby store. Got mine from Micheals arts and crafts, I believe in the flower section or something similar.

Agreed! This model is cool but HORRIBLE TO ASSEMBEL. I should have watched this before I put mine together.

Ain't that the truth, and this was from a starter box set.... GW didn't think that through.

I like the wire trick, nice one. I drill the holes on push fit models so the pegs fit in easier as they're usually a nightmare.
@joyfulpainting7003 жыл бұрын
Yea for me on these push to fit I use clippers to reduce the length of the pegs so the fit better. But I noticed on these models that was mostly unnecessary since they fit very well. Apart from the fact they are like a jigsaw puzzle.

@@joyfulpainting700 TBH, I usually end up clipping the pegs down anyway. I don't know why they don't just go back to the multi pose minis regarding arms and heads...

I believe that Dominion is essentially a starter set for new people. 2 armies and a rulebook, so the miniatures are push to fit for beginners. I disagree with the Swampcalla shaman being easy though. They dropped the ball on that one.

I just cut of the pegs before I put these models together. Made the mistake of putting a few of the models the push fit way. But luckily I only got one gap on one of the bolt boyz. Which was easily filled in.

Yea these models were very frustrating to build. And supposedly it's for beginners.

@@joyfulpainting700 nice tip with adding a bit of medium to the shade paints. Tired it and it dose seem to help draw the paint into the recesses more. What do you think about using contrast medium with the contrast paints to help retain the paints properties, or do you think it doesn’t matter if you use Lahmian medium?
@joyfulpainting7003 жыл бұрын
Good question. I do not use contrast medium at all and exclusively use lahmian medium for 1 reason. Contrast medium is pigmented and whitens any color you put in. Lahmian is clear and doesn't change the color and works good enough with contrast paints.

Great video, tons of useful info presented concisely. I think this is a great paint job. I'm assembling this one right now. Quick question: what brush are you using for the majority of the video?
@joyfulpainting7002 жыл бұрын
I use a cheap brush kit, like 10 buck from amazon, just look for "AIEX 9 Pieces Fine Detail Paint Brush Miniature Painting Brushes Kit Mini Paints Brush Set for Acrylic, Watercolor, Oil, Face, Nail, Scale Model Painting, Line Drawing(Black)" I only use around 4 of the brushes anyway and I care for them so they have lasted me almost 3 years now. And I picked up some springy synthetic brushes from my local craft store for drybrushing now. Hope that helps!

@@joyfulpainting700 Thanks for the reply. That does help - I've been ok the lookout for something with a nice sharp tip that lasts and yours looked great in the video.
