Joying head unit Black screen responsive have lights but no display fixed soldering tin

I have a different brand but uses the same Android SoC module but different PCB layout. diagnosed the backlight working at 15-24V but no output measured, figured out the boost converter wasn't turning on, traced the circuit to the same top-left area of the SoC and noticed that the joints were very thin and cracked. Resoldered all of them beautifully. WORKS PERFECT!

well they do.i have the exact same problem, they expect you to pay 1/4 of the price of the head unit in shipping fees because of a half ass solder job. id be fine if a part went out like a resistor but im not paying for you to re solder what should have been done correctly in the first place. They lost my business.

I totally broken mine when checking inside of it with multimeter. Not familiar with electronics, however the problem looks like the backlight led lightings didn't get necessary power from the main board. Supply voltage to these led lights was 5V as I measured. When connecting these led lights or diodes with 12V it was working. I broke the lcd in order to find the cause.

Is September 2020 ! ive been applying this temporary "fix" for a year now but it keeps coming back (the black screen) so i have to fix it like every two days in a row. Same problem, bought device through a global shipping service (obviously a mistake), Joying denounced me basically saying that because I didn't purchase from them I'm screwed. I would've expected then to at least offer me to send it to them so they can take a look at it. Instead I was offered to buy a new screen for 200 bucks, since mine is stuck on blue screen, and at the same time they also said they dont know which screen I should buy because they cant see the details of the system... I cant even give a recommendation on the product itself because I've been in emails back and forth with Joying about trying to convince them to help me for several months now and I dont even know how their unit works! Very bad experience.

Very likely it is the same issue of degraded solder connections. Unless you have a schematic, you will have to use high-powered magnifying glasses to view the solder connections.

When the car radio works, the mother board will be hot and the temperature will be little high, so the solder will dissolve under the higher temperature. And cause a kind of gule that stick in the core bore. So it result in Circuit impassability and the screen be black. And you just clean it use the industrial alcohol, and resoldering it again, that is ok

Regular electronics solder with rosin core flux. Ideally use the thinnest you an find on this type of repair. Have some copper braid solder wick handy in case you bridge the leads.

VERY BAD soldering technique. You should be using flux prior to tinning the connection. Flux will clean and allow a solid connection.

Thanks for your suggestion, Joying android car radio touch screen can work and have sound, but no display, we found this problem and fixed. because it have no more tin on coreboard, you have to find the tin and tools to soldering tin, it will be solve. Joying will improve our products quality.

Boy ka People who do have this issue shouldn't need to do any of this. This comes down to poor quality control and should be done the right way from factory. i like the thought of these units but I'm scared in purchasing one knowing I could have issues like this.

Of course it's not melting the solder. Their poor soldering technique means the joints are not properly wetted and are cracking during normal thermal cycling.
