This was sooo good and I agree with all them! Especially doing your own styled shoots being a great idea and paid ads in magazines not working! I had the exact same experiences! I actually still get wedding inquiries from styles shoots that I did in 2017-2019 even though I only do branding now! Also email marketing is such a slept on strategy but myself and my clients booked out the rest of the year with email!

Kay, wow that is incredible! Thank you so much for sharing about your experience with email marketing! You are so right that a lot of photographers don’t see the point or the benefit and spend so much time growing their platforms on borrowed ground like Instagram and Facebook. Which are awesome resources but definitely shouldn’t be our whole strategy

I've been obsessed with your videos lately! So helpful and so detailed! Thank you so much! Would love your ideas on finances and budgeting as a new business. Would you suggest getting a business bank account even at the very beginning vs just using your personal but keeping track of your expenses? I know there are a lot of fees to have another bank account so I am just wondering!

This is super helpful thank you! I know you said FB boosts didn’t work for you. What are your thoughts on Instagram ads targeting college students for senior photos for example? Also any tips on getting people to sign up for your email list? Should I go ahead and add any previous clients to my list?

Hey Stacy, I have a video all about email marketing for photographers actually if you’re interested. It should pop up when you search “emo marketing for photographers“ you can’t legally add your past clients to your newsletter list without their consent so I would just send the sign-up form to them and let them know the benefits of being on that list. I have lots of tips on getting people to join your email list over in that other video as well. I think Instagram ads can be effective but you should have a solid system for attaining clients organically before you add any kind of ads to your marketing strategy
