I have gone full deep on the Joyo and Harley Benton from Thomann music in Germany. After a dozen pedals, and 4 guitars i would not hesitate to grab any of their products. I can be convinced that these products are not the finest on the market but i can not be convinced that they wont provide exactly what i need and like. The V-30 loaded cabs at Thomann are like the Black Friday deals on those 4 televisions in stock, but you will actually get one of the cabinets from Thomann if you desire.

It's good to see reviews on speakers. For a civilian it's impossible to demo speakers. That's why I never focused on the speakers. I never knew which one to buy.

I've been thinking about the V30s for years. Just never pulled the trigger. I have the same 70 80 speakers. I've had them for 20 years. Not because I like them or not like them it's just what I have.

Looks better than the photos on the site - I always thought the fronts were slanted. And it's a lot bigger than I thought as well. The port in the back's a great idea as is the wheels. I've been thinking about getting the G12T-75 version.

I liked the nod to Fleetwood Mac's Dragonfly at the start. I remember seeing a Celestion demo at a music show and the guitarist was switching between 412 cabs with these, G12T-75 and I think it was original Greenbacks but the Vintage 30's were my favourites as I'm a straight ahead classic rocker. Another speaker I recommend is the Fane Classic 10, built a home made 410 cab with them and they sounded great.

You should bear in mind that when plugging in an 8 Ohms amp output into the cabinet and setting the switch to 4 Ohms you're actually running an 4 Ohms load at an 8 Ohms output. You are NOT getting an 8 Ohms cabinet this way as two 8 Ohms speakers - as are used here - can be either wired parallel or in series making them either 4 Ohms or 16 Ohms combined (for mono use). I guess that when using both jacks for stereo use there is some switch on the left hand jack that separates the 2 speakers and just creates 2 independent 8 Ohms circuits this way.
@rossferro80355 жыл бұрын
Yep that's how I understand it! Right socket is 4 ohms if slide switch is selected to left and 16 ohms if slide switch is selected to right. The only time you get 8 ohms is if you use the two individual socket inputs and two separate amps !
@silverburst31124 жыл бұрын
Ross Ferro so you can run 2 amps into this each using a speaker. If single amp and your amp supports it you use 4 or 16 ohms to use both speakers?!

Sounded a bit muffled with either amp, like it had a blanket over it! Strange. For $649 it's not ticking all the boxes for me. HB 2X12 with V30s seems a better choice. Good demo Shane! \m/

@DMSProduktions The trick is wait until they go on sale, then they're about $499. Still a little pricier than the HB, but they ship from Oz. They're also a tad bigger than the HB (I've got a HB cab at home).

@@peterschmidt9942 Actually the stock speaker model I thought, actually sounded better, more rounded than the V30 loaded model. I hate how it says “normal” mode in the middle of the switching according to the manual yet you can’t select a middle position. Would be nice to figure out as it says both speakers with a 8ohm amp in normal mode but doesn’t really exist

I bought the Super Crush 100 head , which for full 100 watts output it needs to run at 8 ohms, so I plug it into the left speaker input and then switch in middle of amp move to the left where it says 4 ohm? is that correct? I' ve tried to contact Joyo

Curtis Muma almost positive the V30 is the real deal? Not branded imports. For the retail on this cab I’d say they would have to be the real celestion or it’s not a good price at all. Got an Ibanez cab with the imported one ( which aren’t too shabby) but the 1/12 was under $100 and $199 for the two. HB has the same only for like Half the price! I’ve been trying not to order the 2/12 HB from Thoman. It’s cheaper than just buying the V30 speakers?
