I've created all the guitar parts for my backing tracks using this pedal. It's a great sounding unit at any price, but a no-brainer bargain as it is! 👌

The Joyo American Sound was my 'best bang for your buck' pedal for a long, long time. I eventually decided the HX Stomp knocked it off just by virtue of the sheer scope of what it can do, but I have my American Sound in my gig bag as a backup for my bougie amp sims, it does the job great and when I bought it I think it was 18 bucks or so, crazy value.

Oh yeah, I had an HX stomp for a long time. Great machine - I’m just got tired of menu diving. But, yeah, the stomp had some really cool features.

I have 3 of these. If you're on a budget and want to record straight into your DAW you really can with these. Tip : put your other OD/Dist pedals before this pedal and keep it relatively clean and let your fav OD pedals do the work.

Another nice episode Ben. The pedal is solid. However, being a Les Paul guy, the highlight for me was your guitar. I really dig the unique look and sound yours had and if you haven't done a review yet on it I hope it's coming. I'll be going thru your older videos to find it in case you've already done one and I somehow missed it.

Thanks for the kind words. I’ll save you some time and tell you I haven’t dug into it yet on the channel. It’s probably made an appearance a few times, but just being played. What else would you like to see in a pedal review? I find myself really struggling with making pedal content engaging, at least from my perspective. Any pointers?
@jfiery29 күн бұрын
@CompanyGripGuitar haha you're the pro here. I think you did well demoing it. Pedals are tough territory now that you mention it. I hadn't thought of how tough it is for you content creators trying to figure out how to make your takes unique. In the end it seems like you're all shoved into doing the same things to appease the algorithm. It seems to me you're channel is growing pretty quickly compared to most and in the end its your personality that brings me back. You're chill and come off a guy it would be fun to have a beer with an talk gear. Of course the way you present the small things like what setting your knobs are I think set you apart too. I am a sucker for pedal shoot outs though.
@CompanyGripGuitar29 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. A beer sounds great! 🍺 haha. Yeah, the algorithm is the beast here for sure. To me, it seems more like it is just hungry for content, which of course is hard to come by anything original in a smallish niche like this, and even when you do find something original, it really only matters(to the algorithm) if anyone is interested in it, right? But, regarding pedals, I’ll look into some shootouts. I probably have bought 7 or 8 *new* pedals over the year to put on my channel, even recorded some video for them, and I just find them what I did record so boring I never released it, or I just couldn’t figure out how to present them in a way I was satisfied with. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏽

Andrew Barta deserves a lot of credit for accidentally launching Joyo by virtue of their cloning his very distinctive Character circuit, with EQ on both sides of the clipping stage.

Try stacking it with the British pedal. You can get some unique sounds with the two of them combined.

Good review of a great pedal. I wish I hadn't sold mine. I upgraded to Sansamp Blonde (with switchable spkr. sim) about 7 years ago... the Sansamp has a bit more presence and a little more hi-fi if needed. I would still use Joyo as a backup. I have tried TC Deluxe Rev pedal... was very tinny even with upgraded firmware... reverb was amazing, also Zoom products... I prefer the all analogue approach. I have owned a T21 Flyrig 1 which was very good but found knobs were too small and form factor too small. I wish T21 would do a Blonde pedal with more features..... Reverb, 2 channel. Thanks again for your review.

I have another version of this pedal which is Ammoon American sound. Still it's exactly the same pedal and pcb inside has a joyo marking. It's just another enclosure, however also very ugly and cheaper than joyo. Today I have spray painted it black and awaiting till it dries, will change the knobs to Fender style, think that it's gonna be good. I have also modded it to deactivate the cabsim, so now now it's possible to use it with other IRs. As for the sound - I have some 500$ preamps, while they are definitely better, the joyo is is still good. I have played several shows with it, using it as my amp simulator going straight into mixer and it really sounds great, several people even asked what was the equipment I used. That's was funny to say that it's a 16$ pedal (new). That's sick!)
@CompanyGripGuitar25 күн бұрын
Great pedal, especially for $16! I didn’t know they had another off-brand. But you said it’s still a Joyo branded board inside? 🤔 interesting! Thanks for checking out the video and for the information. Cheers!
@GreatKukuruzo25 күн бұрын
@CompanyGripGuitar yes, AMMOON American sound / Joyo American sound / Harley Benton American sound are all the same PCB (marked as Joyo). There's also another updated version of this pedal that has a smaller and good looking enclosure and different PCB layout but the same sound. Chinese guys run it under brand names IRIN / Horse
