Thanks for mentioning Brian May. You answered my question on how well it's going to work to emulate his tone with this little thing

Trying to decide between this Atomic and the newer model Tweedy with separate controls for each channel. Great demo! These are named after the Bantam rooster, small in size but big in sound!

Thanks for this video. Personally I have the Bantamp Atomic, it was my compromise between an MV50 (decent price) and an AC15 ($$$$). The effects loop on the Bantamp and the lack thereof on the Vox MV50 was what made the difference in choice. Doesn’t hurt that the price is also much better than the MV50s. Have been very pleasantly surprised and am very happy with it, a great bargain and a very decent amp for a hobbyist.

Good review Jack. You got some great tones out of that little amp and the bluetooth feature is really awesome for jamming.
@JackFossett4 жыл бұрын
Agreed! A few nice surprising features like that and the effects loop on an otherwise pretty simple amp.

Great presentation Jack. I’m not so much into the Vox style but definitely may check out the Blue Jay, Tweedy or both. Cheaper than most pedals. Thanks for sharing.

The real star of this demo is that SG. Those pickups sounds absolutely fantastic.
@Anjohl2 жыл бұрын
SG's are *so* overrated. They can do everything a Les Paul can do, and most of what a Tele can do!

I just bought my first Joyo product, a Phaser, and it's *fantastic* for what I paid for it! I've been wanting a Vox amp, I might give this a whirl!

I have the blue jay and the atomic which I’m very pleased with both. They’re both great pedal platforms. The MXR Timmy and the Nobels ODR mini work great in front. Also have the NUX Atlantic for reverb and delay runnning the amps into a Mesa Boogie 1X12 open back. I’ll just stick a Shure 57 for live gigs.

What was the ohm rating of your cabinet? I have the Jackman and if you run it through a 16 ohm speaker it cuts the power in half. 8 ohms and it's pretty close to my DSL40.

It is insane the level of gear we have today. The golden age of the electric guitar. I started in the early 70's and guitars sucked back then unless you bought one of the majors like gibson or Fender or you got student level which was abasically untunable and unplayabled by today standards. Today you get amps that sound expensive for cheap, and guitars play and sound great. It doesn't take a lot of effort to swap the pickups and get as close as you can get to the top.

That's as much Gain as I'd expect from a Vox-type amp; it's a crunch. I would've been surprised if it gave out a Metal sound, like the JaCkMan, or zoMBie.

You have a great sensibility, great playing dude. i have a question..... How good is the clean sound when you are increasing the volume (with a little gain),, dont start to feel the saturation noise in the speakers? I play with many chorus, delays, tone cleans. Regards

Have you ever played a Real AC30? You should expect it to be cleaner when cranked, that is the sound of an AC30.
