Just bought this as my first EQ. I was trying it on a Princeton Tone Master and Gibson LP Standard before I bought it. It sounds amazing considering the price. It really helps with the muddiness of the humbuckers.

Yes for the price it's a great bit of kit to add to your rig. And definitely does a good job of cutting the muddiness

@@leearmitage did you have that in front of the amp? Or in the effects loop? It sounds really good, where exactly did you have it in your chain?

Do the wipers have a notch for the middle/flat setting or do you have to eyeball it?
@leearmitage2 жыл бұрын
Hi yeah there is a notch for the flat setting

@@leearmitage cool thanks! Also I've read that this is a really quiet eq pedal, aka it doesn't introduce a lot of unwanted hiss and buzz into the signal, is this true?

I've not noticed any additional noise and I've used it in a few amps

@@leearmitage great! Thanks for the response and info 👍 I'm wanting to try adding this after my overdrive and distortion pedals to add just a little bit of low end and presence to some of the pedals' tone/character.

No problem man. I am planning on doing another video with to show how can help shape tone in smaller amps, by putting in the loop

Another good & very interesting video, good work Lee. I sometimes prefer an EQ pedal as a boost than a Tubescreamer or other OD pedal, and I've considered this one. I believe its based on the MXR 6 band EQ. Sounds like it does the job well, some good tones there. \m/
@leearmitage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, yeah I have a behringer EQ that has a volume fader which I keep meaning to do a video on, I've had that pedal for years, and then at some point I will do one using both 1 Infront of an amp and the other in the loop
@georgesaris99683 жыл бұрын
Also, quick question, so is the Joyo Ultimate Drive pedal providing the main distortion here? I have the Ultimate Drive & it sure is a high gain OD where it can be used as a main distortion, even for metal.
@leearmitage3 жыл бұрын
You certainly can use it as a main distortion what tend to do with it is have the amp as the main distortion and have a little bit of gain on the pedal just to push the amp
@Brwinka Жыл бұрын
Did the pedal come with the thing to plug in the wall

Nice demo, but wanna make the right choice , the joyo 6 band or mxr 6 band, if joyo gives the same Quality as mxr so i'm gonna be buying the joyo, but if it is not the same id prefer expending more money for the mrx. What are your thouts??
@leearmitage2 жыл бұрын
I've not tried the mxr one but I'm really happy with the Joyo one I'm going to do another video to show how I sometimes use it with an amp that only has a tone knob

The caline 10 band is a good one also, mixed with this joyo would make an awesome combination. The joyo seems to add a nice flavor of circuit to the sound kind of like a silicon diode sound like a plexi.

Yeah I've been looking at a couple of cheaper 10 band eqs

To be honest, this is just another 6 band EQ pedal. The only thing that makes this pedal special is that they printed the "N" backwards on the the "IN" printing on the top of the pedal. Cute and funny. LOL.
