Looks yummy. You always crack me up when you taste the dish at the end. I don't know why. I think it's because most other cooking show hosts immediately exclaim, "Omg this this soooo good!", but you actually taste it and enjoy it. Anyway, thanks for all of the recipes over the years!

thanks for the time and effort you put into these videos. I find the step by step of how to add the ingredients (wet/dry, etc) very helpful because these are the tips not included in many recipe instructions and I know it makes a difference with the end result. I have a question - will this recipe work if I used Becel Olive Oil margerine?

Thanks Stephanie for making this video! :) I just made these and loved them, but I put too much jam in them and the tops slid down. I was wondering if there was a way I could bake these without that happening? Thanks so much :)
@joyofbaking7 жыл бұрын
I would try only putting the jam in the center of the scone. That way you should be able to seal the top to the bottom scone.

I have made these 3 times since I found this recipe and I just love them. I sprinkled the top with some cinnamon sugar before baking and it gives them a little crunch and sweetness. I had trouble with the filling flowing out of the scones while baking so i tried baking them in the round with just scoring the top to see if I could keep the filling inside the scones while baking. The bottom of the scones did not cook fully this way and I had to put them back in oven to cook a little longer. However I did not loose any filling. Any suggestions to not loose the filling while baking pre- cut?

Stephanie do these scones hold together, it seems like a lot of butter for 260g of flour then eggs and cream. I just imagine they will be so rich they will fall apart.
@joyofbaking2 ай бұрын
This recipe uses about the same amount of butter that all my scone recipes contain. I don’t find that they fall apart.

Am trying this out too but I want to know how to make buttermilk and heavy cream
@joyofbaking5 жыл бұрын
For buttermilk - take 1 cup (240 ml) milk and stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar. Let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes before using. Instead of heavy cream you can use an equal amount of light cream or even milk.
