Midoriya is kind of... an odd character to me. Like, by all accounts, he's the paragon of the story, or at least it seems that way often times. He doesn't really need to grow and change all that much, beyond accepting who he is and that he has to live. He seems to be a relatively flat character in comparison to his peers, mentors, and antagonists. Then again, while typically seeming to hold a more simplistic moral compass, he's always pointed north, so maybe he never really needed that same coming to terms with himself and growing from there. That or JoyRide Has put so much work into making the surrounding characters as interesting as possible, that it's left Midoriya to fall by the wayside a little bit. Oh well, regardless, this is easily my favorite abridged series of all time.

I think it’s probably more of how other characters have been made interesting that you feel this way. However it’s highly possible that he’ll receive more development during Joyride’s version of the vigilante arc. However in all honesty I’ve always found this Midoriya to be more compelling than the Original. He’s still got the broad strokes but he’s also much more confident and isn’t afraid to call people out when he needs to. I think that this Midoriya at least still has interesting places he can go

Gotta say, as much as I am loving the story you’ve got here, and believe me, I am, the pacing these last few episodes is totally out of whack. I get that there’s a shit ton of material to condense, but moments that should be impactful, like the confrontation inside One For All, just aren’t given the proper time to breathe. The story, writing, and voice acting are still peak, just give us a few breaths to appreciate it.

...after watching the internal struggle scene again for the third time, I finally get what happened there. There is no Yoichi Shigaraki in this telling of the story. That white haired mullet haver is the actual All for One still tied to OfA, that spoke to Izuku and said he was going to help stop Shigaraki. The AfO we see on Shigaraki's body is, like the previous episode said, a piece of AfO's quirk that he gave him when they first met; that AfO hasn't been through what AfO went through in Kamino, where he officially passed the mantle to Bakugo, and reconciled with All Might before being locked away, hence why he's still backing Shigaraki (and also immediately trying to take over his body). On top of that, this moment in the vestige realm actually sets up Deku's attitude going forward much better than the manga did; with Nana basically saying "If you have to take lives to make your point, you've lost", it sets up Izuku to actually want to SAVE Shigaraki for a reason, instead of how in the OG story Nana was willing to give Deku her blessing to kill Shigaraki for the sake of everyone else. Now, Izuku doesn't just have his own...ideal backing his idea of saving Shigaraki like in the OG story, he has the others as well.

I also don’t know if I fully disagree with shigaraki, I know Leroy/writer man said he hates the nihilism that shigaraki symbolizes. But I kinda agree with shigaraki to an extent, maybe not kill EVERYONE but kill every hero who holds up that society as well as the main heads behind it then go after the ones who fully submit to the current system leaving only those who question it to decide what they want. Shigaraki then can lead them into a better world. The main issue I think is that shigaraki has no plan after he gets what he wants. He just wants to destroy, not rebuild. That’s probably what makes nana disapprove. That’s what might make deku different
