Hello thanks for the good info. , i would like to ask if you can do a logitech extreme 3d pro maping video , i use this stick since 2002 and could not find any video on YT to bind thos stick corectly with gremlin , thank you.

I don't own one but it "should" be the same as any other joystick when it comes to gremlin. I just used the sticks I have on hand for examples. Be sure to check out the quick start guide for general setup instructions as well!

I’m running into some problems. I want to change the triggers on an Xbox one controller into buttons (they are an axis for some reason) but for some reason it’s not working. I did everything correctly but the buttons aren’t working. What’s going on?

how can I map two buttons physical buttons pressed together as one vJoy button? My physical stick has a button that you press and then that lets you use the other 4 buttons as another 4 buttons i.e. button 5 + button 1 = button 6

In the MB339 for DCS World there are three cockpit switches used to arm the smoke system. They are mapped to keyboard keys as follows: RCtrl+M, RCtrl+C and LCtrl+W. I want to map a single stick button on my X52 stick to trigger these three actions so that they can be toggled on or off with a button press. Is this possible and how? It is quite difficult for my formation pilots to fly and trigger these three switches from within the cockpit by shifting their view way back to the rear panel of the left console and manually flipping each switch.

I assume they are momentary presses as they are bound to keyboard bindings. You can probably achieve this two ways. On the single JG button, add three separate "Map To Keyboard" actions from the top drop down. Set each to have one of the three keyboard mappings. If that is problematic, you can add a single macro action instead and just record pressing the three button sequences. Both solutions should fire all three in my experience.

Great video! Do you happen to know of a way to go from buttons on a controller to 4-Way hats? My CH PRO Throttle has 3x 4 way hats on it, but they are all setup as buttons. I already have enough buttons with the mode switching & just one hat (followed another tutorial of yours- brilliant, thank you!!). Can't for the life of me see how to set a direction on a hat when a button is pressed...

I've not tested it but there may be a way. If you assign a button to a macro, the macro allows you to add "vjoy" inputs. Once you add a vjoy, select the vjoy device and hat from the drop down and it will give another drop down with the hat direction. You'll need to do different directions on different buttons. Your mileage may vary, as I've never tried it myself! Cheers!

I had a chance to test it here. The "center" is required to return to center as well. If you want the hat to hold while holding the button, you'll need two macros on the same button The first macro triggers vjoy device 1 hat North. Set an action condition on the macro container to activate when this virtual button is pressed. The second macro triggers vjoy device 1 hat Center. Set an action condition on the macro container to activate when this virtual button is released.

For my needs, just one macro block with two items does the trick: way I could make it work was with hold selected & zero delay.. nothing exotic about the follow-up centering macro. Thanks for the quick reply; I'm quickly learning JG to get the most out of lots of different / old hardware as I build up to a 'real' sim pit!

does it work only with joystick? I am looking to use it on tm 16000 throttle, for teh frontal so called "rocker" axis change into button .. I see u speak of this case at 1:44 however I dnt know if it needs to get constantly updated if DCS or Multiplkayer can cause issues or other stuff can make all this huge work a waste of time and configuration planning

HI good stuff. I've watched your videos for inspiration and knowledge. Thank you! I have been trying to figure out a wat to create an 8-way virtual buttons out for the x+y rotations.. is that even possible in Gremlin or do I need to go back to Virpil's config software. I'm failry certian I can do it there. but I didnt want to lack it down to an 8way button. but instead switch if from analog to v-buttons using modes in gremlin

I'll try and think of a way ( outside of python scripting!) I think it would be tough with virtual buttons since the X / Y have individual mappings/range detection. You would need a way to logical AND when both X/Y are at a certain deflection point.

@@RedLir_Live yeah I 've been trying.. only OR's available so far. no AND'ing that I can see. I managed to create 1-8 using ranges on X OR Y from below and above, but it's not ideal under pressure.. like trying to adjust your shields per se.. too stressful for me to control fine movements under fire with my thumb at the moment..

Thanks for your great and very well explained videos :) Do you know if there is any windows app that can "convert" keyboard keypress´s to Virtual joystick button output? instead of using several physical joysticks with buttons, I am looking for a way to get lots ( 32 or more) of joy-buttons to my flightsim, X-plane, from my second keyboard. You can remap keyboard strokes to Joystick buttons in Gremlin (under the keyboard tab) but be warned the keyboard strokes still fire. So if you map F to vjoy button 1, you will get both F and button 1. When I tested here, I was not able to hide the keyboard from programs with hidhide.

I also just found a program called MKM (Multi keyboard macros) from MediaChance, that can do miracles with inputs and outputs. That program can also differentiate between different keyboards!! which is just great! :) Maybe Gremlin, vjoy and MKM can solve this!? Do check out MKM if you haven't yet! Is there a pwm for keys? I want to bind my x56 centered throttle to space engineers but it only supports 4 axis when 6 is required for full motion and rotation. Your video shows me how to activate it between -100% and 100% but I don't see where I can disable it for a certain amount of time to simulate gradual acceleration. The formula I want to use is t = full cycle, n = input, duty cycle = (n+1)/2 * t. Does joystick gremlin have the option?

You could probably use a profile for when you want it applied vs not.

@@RedLir_Live I don't think I was clear. If the cycle is for example 1 second, and my throttle is between -95% and -80% then it'll press W hold for .1 second and release for .9 and repeat that. Right now I have 10 containers that activate at -95% to -80%, -80% to -60%, ..., 80% to 100% and each one has a macro that correlates the time the button is held to the percentage the throttle is at. So -95% and less doesn't press any buttons, the first range presses the button 10% of the time, second 20%, third 30%, ..., tenth 100%. It doesn't feel right that I need to make these ranges to have this effect.

I am trying to map my pitch and roll axis to “hold” keyboard buttons “WASD” respectively. I have set the virtual buttons to “press anywhere in given range” but the key bind is not being “held” just “pressed” when entering the specified range.. any suggestions?

You could try to use macros for in and out of the range. I.e roll left pressing w. Entering the range would trigger a macro that only presses the w key but doesn't release. Leaving the range triggers a macro that releases the w key. You add 2 macros to the same axis and make sure it's not set from anywhere but from above or below and adjust min/max as necessary. YMMV

can you use an analog input as an analog input and a button at the same time? such as a throttle but when you have it all the way forward it activates a boost button?
