I wish to thank you for your help, as i have my first Hoya. It could be challenging to raise in MN. indoors. I plan to hang this varigated beauty in the East facing window and to take all of your good advice on care. Thank you

Hello from Puerto Rico. I'm getting my first Hoya this week from a friend. My mom had a few but at that time I wasn't interested in them. 🤷🏻♀️. Thanks for your knowledge shared here.

The thickness of the foilage reminds me of ZZ plant, which also retains water very well. They're thirsty! Especially when growth is new or relatively new.

They're thick foliage makes them resilient, even here in the desert. Mine don't take a lot of water which is great because I travel a lot. Nell

Hi there! My Hoya Obovata lives indoors and the leaves seem to becoming less succulent and are wrinkly when I bend them. Is this over watering or under watering? Thank you in advance.

Hi Nell! How are you? I hope you and your family are good, especially in these crazy times. I love your Hoya Obovata! It is healthy and happy. One of my first plants was a Hoya Carnosa Tricolor/Krimson Queen. It was a very small plant with only 2 stems. I had it for years and last summer it got mealybugs. First time I had them on my plants. I treated it and the plant went downhill fast. I took cuttings and now have a small plant. I have numerous Hoyas. I have the Cornosa Green, Tricolor/Krimson Queen & Princess. I also have a Obovata, Publicalyx and Austrailis. Have you tried Miracle Grow Orchid Spray on your Hoyas? Nicole from My Clean Leaves does, so I bought it. My Hoyas love, love, love it! Stay smart and safe, Gerry 😎

All these videos about Hoyas and I cannot find a single one that talks about pruning. I know very little about plants, but I have a Hoya and it has one fabulously long tendril, about 7 feet long, but the main plant itself is not very full. I feel like I need to prune this tendril, to encourage more growth around the main body of the plant, but I am terrified to do so. Can you give me any advice?

Hi Nell from Charlotte, NC! I love both of your hoyas! I guess I love ALL hoyas! I'm so very happy that you have all of those wonderful videos about hoyas. Your hoya videos are "from soup to nuts"! Seriously! I already have four different ones & am expecting 5 or 6 more that I bought online; so, I REALLY need any and all tips & information that I can get! Would you happen to own or know of a good book on growing hoyas? I'm kind of old-school & just prefer to have a book in my hands. Thank you for sharing your plants & knowledge with the rest of us! 🌱💚

Can you tell me, when you do water, do you use the drench and drain method? I love your videos. That is the most beautiful ponytail I have ever seen!

Hi everyone! I've had a hoya carnosa rubra for about a month or two now and the leaves are softening and becoming limp. I've watered it twice and have it in a tera cotta pot. I've let the soil dry completely between waterings so I have no idea why it would be doing this. Can anyone help?

Hello Nell! I was wondering if this Hoya tends to be a slow grower? I've had mine for months and it hasn't put out new growth at all! Any advice or tips are very helpful! Thanks in advance!

Depends on the hoya and size, but yes. . .they can take a long time. Try different light, pot size, and water when only dry. Aslo mine love warmth.

Try moving it outside if you live in a humid environment and give it some bright indirect light. My Hoya Obovata, hindu ropes and krimson Princess did nothing for months until I moved them outside for the summer. My Obovata has 10 leaves growing at once now, 2 weeks after moving it outside

Hi Nell, I live in Toronto Canada. I bought my hoya 2 yeas put it indoor bright day light because cold outside. But no flowers. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Hi I love your hoyas I have a question my Hoya Hindu rope is starting to yellow and dropping it’s leaves. I have it on an east facing window on the east coast and I do supplement them with extra light. I only water in when it’s completely dry since they do not like to have wet feet. I also provide them with a bit of humidity once in a while. Is there anything you recommend for my rope?

I love that plant too. I got it in a 6" pot (it was small!) at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market & brought it with me when I moved to Tucson. Had to move it to the center of the patio so I could see it from the living room, entry & dining room! Nell

some hoyas are prone to mealybugs. hindu rope/compacta is one.

Yes Spencer, as houseplants they are subject to mealybugs. It must have had them before you bought it. Here's a post & video for you: www.joyusgarden.com/plant-pests-aphids-mealybugs/ Nell
