Играли два молодых классных гроссмейстера, будущее которых - 2700++. Партия классная, полна тонких позиционных идей. В итоге, Артемьев оказался глубже в стратегическом плане, выиграл пешку и победил. Техника реализации у Владика - на высочайшем уровне. Но, Ханс просто так не проигрывает! На его месте немногие бы сыграли лучше! Владик безусловно очень талантлив! Если бы он захотел, сосредоточился на Шахматах, он бы уже играл в ТП. А Хансу - нужно еще поиграть. Он немного отстает по наигранности и силе игры. Но, он тоже еще не полностью раскрылся.

Artemiev really played beautiful strategic chess, but we have to be honest: Nieman played this game rather poorly, his knight manoeuvring was much to slowly, and this enabled black to achieve a strong counterplay on the queenside. Kasparov for example, with the white pieces, would surely have played much more aggressively and actively! Then it would have been much harder for black to reach a successful counterplay before beeing destroyed on the kingside!

As we learn when we first start playing we should not move a piece many times, which is exactly what Hans did. Bad playing. Artemiev is one of the best players around and 2700 is underrated.

He's a 2700 without an engine OTB. Seems like 2700 is pretty good. Let me check... yep, still a great ELO. Maybe you are one of those people who thought there is only only player who is smart enough to figure out how to cheat OTB, never gets caught, can play bullet and cheat...

@@rawheadrex8487 Agreed, his rating would be much higher if others were not cheating. He has beaten much higher rated players, so we also agree he is well positioned as a GM. Your use of "elite" is interesting. I bet you cry foul when he beats a higher ranked player and pretend he must have cheated, but then laugh like a child when he loses to a lower rated player. But but... engines! Do you think there is another illogical thinker who believes he is a 2750 player if his opponents were not cheating? Just as likely, and that would make him an "elite" GM.
