It would be interesting to know, if 9.Nb5? had been pre-aranged by the organisers, or if this move was played by the engine itself.

For several years, various versions of stockfish have preferred 5. ... c5 over other continuations, mainly 5. ... Ne7 and 5. ... Nd7. It's true that 9 Qe1! leaves White with a slight edge. 9. Nb5?! is dubious. It does badly in the Lichess database and stockfish doesn't like it.

Slow chess was just trying to gain scope for its Bishop sacking the knight for a pawn ♟️putting the Bishop on f3 to put more pressure on the knight c6

19.Nxc4? ruins the position. Stockfish itself would play 19.Bh5! g6 and now 20.Nxc4!, with much better drawing chances.
