Old lady gave me an ultimatum, either quit drinking and keep her and the kids or keep going and loose it all. Right around 5 years for me I don’t keep count. Been thinking about starting again but it’s songs like this and conversations with strangers and friends that no longer on this earth keeps me off the wagon. Keep songs like this coming, because people is struggling and music helps so much

Was a hard core drunk for 25+ years give or take. When I say hard core, I mean hard core. I let that F'n booze take everything away from me that I cared about. And those that cared about me. I didn't quit willingly. I developed health issues that physically prevent me from being able to injest alcohol. Been sober for about 14 years give or take. Just two weeks ago I was headed to get a pack of Boro Reds and hit a bar while running errands. Somehow got distracted and didn't make it to the bar. As much as I let it take from me, there are just some times. I just want to take a drag so deep on a Boro red that my chest won't expand anymore. Have a Bicardi and coke. Then take pull on a fifth of Jim Beam. And listen to Dwight Yoakum sing "It Won't Hurt" 100 times in a row until ,y eyes close and the world disappears.

OK, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
