As an Aussie laying here on his bed on a Saturday morning, watching this on KZbin with the headphones cranked right up....these guys make me feel so fucking proud. That’s what makes Gang of Youths so great...they are mine, they are yours, they everyone’s ...all the while feeling like they are your little secret. Austin was treated to an amazing set here and you can bet many in the crowd walked away thinking to themselves ...these guys are mine!

Dave is a natural songwriter/ performer, i first met him when he was 16 and the melodies and hooks he was creating at that early age was amazing some of his first songs are still my favorite to this day. before he could even drink he had no problems winning over crowds in Sydney pubs there is no doubt in my mind this band will go very far.

nel132 Ah those lyrics they are Amazing!! he’s a poet and yes they are fast and hard to understand. I went to the lyrics to read them so many meaningful stories. Dave writes all his own lyrics, singer songwriters are priceless and he plays great guitar and piano and his deep voice wow. He’s a beautiful man so young and been through so much. Have seen them in local pubs years ago when they first started out around Newtown Australia. Saw them again end of last year at Enmore Theatre Newtown ( Sydney ) they put on a fantastic show live. So much love and mateship between these guys. Love GOY ❤️🌺🌹

I discovered this band yesterday, starter for Mumford and Sons, and I loved it! What a difference in crowd.. Over here (The Netherlands) the entire stadium went crazy. This looks more like he is performing for senior citizens? Not really enthusiastic, are they.. He looks like the love baby of Jon Snow and Jason Mamoa. I'm digging it.

How good is it when the starter band is better than the actual band you paid to see! Same happened to me when I went to see Grinspoon in 2002.

The best Australian band in a Long time. So much passion. Seen them 3 times and every time I can't wait to see them again.
@martyschwartzhere92906 жыл бұрын
Gang of Youths are objectively the worst band in Australian music by a fucking mile mate. The only reason this band is successful is because of triple j, a radio station run by lefty cunts who are renowned for betraying bands without giving them airtime. They brainwash people into liking the idea of music for their own benefit, not because it's good. It's like someone took a shit on a U2 vinyl and smeared it in the cracks, that's what they sound like. The best Australian band in recent memory is Eddy Current Suppression Ring. A band who got absolutely no recognition. Typical Australia, our radio and media is run by absolute Derricks. Gang of Youths are making music for fame. They even said they were inspired by Sonic Youth and The Replacements, two of the best bands ever and they come out writing trashy pop songs because they know they could never rise above by making the music they truly wanted to. They're another band that has conformed to the norm because they know they aren't talented enough to be unique.
@James-ws3qh6 жыл бұрын
100% agree. Gang of Youths are by far the best Australian band right now. Amazing energy they bring to their shows. Can't wait to see them again
@NoCoder106 жыл бұрын
@@martyschwartzhere9290 - Jeez mate, take a chill pill. If you don't like them, all good. We are all entitled to our own opinions, and if you think Eddy Current Suppression Ring are the best, more power to you. I like them too. Many bands have been influenced by artists they sound nothing like. Maybe they actually like the music they are making and then the passion comes off in their live performances, which goes in hand with making them popular. Just because a band becomes popular, doesn't mean they are shit (sometimes that can be a side effect).
