Please note that based on an email I received on an enquiry with Greg today, he is no longer building / selling his baskets due to health reasons. Here's hoping his health returns and he can resume building his charcoal baskets.

I'd like to see how long the Arbor Fabricating one can go. I like using the water bowl, and don't want to give that up.

I tried with a brisket on my WSM18. It was holding temp after 14 1/2 hours. I finally shut it down because the brisket was done. It might have gone another hour or two if I had stirred the coals and let it go.

Thank's JP. I have the WSM 18. I'm a beginner at smokin. From watching your videos, the temp control and blower looks like it's a must have. Also Arbor Fab sells the minion basket by itself. With these two I think I can have a good chance for beginner success.

I have a wsm. In my opinion the bigger basket and blower aren't needed. Once it gets dialed in, it's dialed. But these tools are fun to use.

The Arbor Fab has a bar in the middle of the charcol basket making it hard to poure he lite coals into the smaller basket. So i just took a coffee can cut out the bottom and center it in the middle of my charcol basket and poure my lite coals in. It works great.

JP I have two baskets from Greg (Slowhand) also. I have one for the 18 and 26 inch kettle. Both work and fit perfectly and are high quality. I would highly recommend Slowhand’s products. He is a great guy and wrote me a note thanking me for my business... who does that any more... Greg does. Take care JP.

I very nearly ordered the Arborfab basket with the bottom welded in for my WSM 22". I loved the idea of loading it with lump, and then after the cook giving it a good shake and cleaning out the ash that falls through. For right around a hundred bucks it was a bit much but I said what the heck. Then I saw the shipping fee and then I decided it cost more than it was worth to me. I would love the basket but how much is too much?
@JPBBQ5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff, I appreciate you watching and commenting on my video. Yes they can be expensive. I have the 18 inch WSM so the basket is less expensive. The funny thing about the shipping is I saw that it was kinda of expensive to ship but i went ahead a got it, then later they sent me an email saying they over charged me for the shipping and gave me a refund for the difference. So I don’t know if they just have a flat rate for shipping on their check out and then adjust the price later to what it may actually be, not sure, but good to know. Thanks again.

I have a WSM 18. Will the arborfab charcoal basket work fine in that with the new deeper waterpan? Or does the bottom sit on the basket handle???
@JPBBQ4 жыл бұрын
Great question, I really dont remember. I want to say yes but no sure. I quit using the standard water pan and currently using the heat diffuser from www.bbqsmokermods.com but i will put that on the list for videos too do. Thanks
@comlbbeau10 ай бұрын
There's about a 1" clearance between the bottom of the deeper water pan and the bar handle atop the Arbor Fab basket.
