Just got it. It definitely is all i needed, Compressor, Eq, Desser and bunch of pristine effects. The harmonizer is top notch. I've been searching for something like this for a while with no success (rolands 404mk2, aira, vt, helicon, guitar pedals through a mixer). There are some cons tho: I wish the delay had some parameters to tweak, such as a lowpass filter, or type of delay 1/16, 1/8, etc. couple of reverbs: Ambience and Room have a metallic feel. The looper is ok, but kinda sturdy. Wish there was some kind of glitchy effect as well (but thats maybe asking for too much). This is a solid 8.5/10 for me, the best vocal gear I've been lucky to get ahold of. Can make my vocals sound like they're being played from a DAW. go get it!

Could you please clarify why the lack of automatic harmony detection with piano or guitar is considered a downside? I'm new to this and trying to figure out if it’s still worth purchasing. I plan to use my piano and acoustic guitar with a Loudbox Mini amp while incorporating a vocal processor for live performances with friends. Would the inability to set the key automatically from my instruments be a significant limitation when playing guitar or piano, or would the vocal harmony features still be sufficient for my needs? Thanks in advance!

That’s a deal breaker …. Why would they leave that (very important) feature out, when that technology has been around for over a decade…. TC and even Digitech do it very well. Very disappointing
@robtanner52419 ай бұрын
Boss VE-500 does that. I actually just traded it for the VE-22. I liked being able to plug the guitar in but it's so easy to change the key with the VE-22, I won't miss that feature much and also would say the overall ease of use with the VE-22 is far better and I feel the overall sound is better than the VE-500@@jeffbateman2339

is the looper PRE FX or POST FX? Also is there any kind of "scatter" in there?
@JohnPaulMusicUK27 күн бұрын
For the looper, you can do either. You have ‘Perform’ which is post Fx and you have ‘check’ which is pre Fx. Doesn’t look like there is a scatter but there is a ‘slicer’ and you could then all a delay like ping pong or some other timing.

what is the difference between getting a device like this and continue to learn Logic Pro and do all this in Logic Pro live? I never used a device like this... Only been singing on stage for theatre and chorus... so singing solo and recording at home is totally new to me.. I just bought Logic Pro and see it got all kinds of ways to produce music... But now I have begun looking around KZbin for tools for singers that want to record at home or do live things online or on a street and found this device interesting.. but what is really the difference exactly between working in Logic Pro with all these delays, reverb bad so on, Logic Pro has a live feature compared to getting this device? Can someone technical here help me, who is super anti-technical, to understand the benefits of this and the limitations of this compared to only using Logic Pro and a sound interface, I got the Audient ID 14 mk ll? Someone told me this is only for people that cannot sing or kids that wanna sound like a robot or as if in a phone... but seeing how you and others use this kind of device and also teh old one TC-Helicon Touch 2 and the level people using these sing on, I doubt that these devices are limited to only tone-deaf people and kids... lol.... BUt, as the tech moron I am, please help me understand this device better, they have one in my local store now... shall I get it?!🤪 Shall I who wanna record singing acapella and start to make youtube covers and so on get this? Also wanna do Voice Over acting from home, reading in characters and in the Summer if I can learn to sing a Capella do some street performances... But as said, I got the sound interface Audient id 14 and logic pro and a MacBook... However, this device is interesting to me! thanks!

Hey 👋 So.. devices like this in general are specifically designed (mainly) for live use, with the idea of using for recording as a secondary function. Imagine a band or a singer who wants controls like echo reverb etc and they don’t want to take a computer out on stage with them. This is why this exists. They plug their mic in, get the sounds the want at home and then then program it up to use live or live streaming. It’s much easier than a computer cause it’s just a small device that can fit into a bag and has the audio interface and the pedals all built into one unit. (Btw, whoever said to you for kids or people who can’t sing.. that’s not true) So.. to be devils advocate here, let’s look at your setup. You could TOTALLY do everything you want to with Logic Pro and the Audient audio interface (Logic Pro on a Mac or iPad btw? Just curious). I would say that maybe further down the road. you might wanna add a pedal like a Bluetooth pedal like an airstep or Boss FS1WL so you can program it up to play or engage sounds on Logic and then, when your confident, you don’t have to have the computer right next to you and use the pedal for play, stop, turn of fx etc. But it’s totally down to you and what you need and what you are using. My honest advice, stop and breathe, take a step back from all the tech (I know right, sounds mad coming from a tech nerd like me 🤣) and just think.. what’s my goal here and then what do I need to accomplish that. Get a piece of paper and pen and draw out your setup and what you want it to do. 👍🏻 If I was you with JUST getting Logic Pro, I would be learning all about that and its capabilities as you have already invested in it. Then if you think you need a pedal, then get it. You can always message me and the community on here to get advice.. they don’t bite. 👍🏻 Hope that helps.

@@JohnPaulMusicUK I see! I had no idea about this. So if I understand you right, one can in Logic Pro use a live function and before one starts change all settings with reverb etc that the Boss device can do, There is no difference in what Logic Pro can do that the Boss device can do, the Logic can then do even more.. But for live usage, they can do the same thing? just that one then needs either to use one computer on stage or find a Bluetooth pedal that then would replace exactly what the Boss VE 22 does just that is connected by Bluetooth to Logic Pro in one computer somewhere on the stage and then would have the same buttons as the Boss device?' am I understanding this right? And the mic would then come from one's computer or from the Bluetooth pedal? I been testing Logic Pro in my MacBook. I do have an old ipad also, but it maybe too old, is from 2016...not sure is that good to handle Logic Pro, but I have not tested it... Thanks for getting back! I am not against Logic Pro, I took like an Intro course for it, I felt some things like the drummer were interesting but there is a lot of things with reverb and EQ that I really did not understand how to control and did not feel I got any good results with it either... Also, my Shure SM 7 B is constantly clipping as soon as I sing a little higher notes and I cannot get a good recording at all... Got a Fethead between the Shure SM 7 B pr I will not hear myself at all in the earphones... but even if the Gain is just at noon on the Audient and middle on the Logic Pro and the volume is a bit about the middle it still clips... I do not know how to stop it from clipping. Had to do an audition the other week, but that did not go well as it clips and my song goes away at high tones and comes back at lower tones again.. so was a total bummer that audition... AM really new to recording from home... Just been singing live in chorus and in theatre on stage before, but never recorded at home... Thanks for getting back, any advice and tricks on what to do with my clipping would be highly appreciated! have a good week! Christoffer
@JohnPaulMusicUK9 ай бұрын
@framestomind7548 no. They don’t do the exact same things. Logic is a DAW (digital audio workstation) but it is very versatile and can do many things like record, playback, make songs etc where the VE-22 is a dedicated pedal to do a dedicated job. What I was getting at is that with the equipment you have already, you could achieve an equivalent but that also depends on what sounds you want. For your clipping, you need to look at the gain input and the main output of logic if you are pumping that into somewhere like zoom. Have a look at a few Logic Pro for beginners tutorials as you will find most people will use it in a studio setting (I certainly do). Patrick from @thegaragebandguide is a Jedi with this stuff!

After having it for a little bit of time, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really aimed at singers only. Maybe people who want to add a bit of effects without an engineer around. If you want it for anything more then I think that’s why Boss sell the VE-500 which has midi and harmony etc.
